Lower Wharfe Canoe Club - Risk Assessment: Site: Linton Locks Assessment By: Sue Couling Review Date: February 2015 Date of Assessment: April 2011, reviewed February 2012 To be read in conjunction with: The club generic risk assessment for trips The club specific risk assessment for white water trips This is a fish ladder alongside a very large weir on the river Ouse. An Archimedes screw has been constructed next to fish ladder. The building work has left some uneven surfaces this should be inspected prior to use. The weir presents a significant hazard and extreme care should be exercised when paddling near it. The fish ladder is due to be mended and a new screw built with a new water course alongside in 20152016. Groups should check progress of work before visiting site. Finding the access point on the west bank is tricky so the trip leader should arrange to meet people at the petrol station on A59 opposite road to Nun Monkton Chairpersons Signature
