Finding Animals in Ma Wan Module Places and Activities Unit Out for fun Programme outline Cuckoo finds some “animals” in Ma Wan. It then posts the photos of the “animals” on its website. But, are the animals real? Join Max and his cousin Judy to find out. During their bus trip, they also see some beautiful bridges and places in Hong Kong. Identify some common animals and describe their features, eating habits and abilities 2. Learn about the names of places and landmarks in Hong Kong such as Ma Wan, Lantau Island, Tsing Ma Bridge, etc. Suggested activities 1. Project the map in COPYMASTER 1 and locate Ma Wan on the map. 2. Explain the programme briefly. Introduce Cuckoo the puppet and its travel tips on its website. Introduce Max and his cousin Judy who like travelling around. 3. Before watching, tell pupils that they are going on a trip to a park in Ma Wan to look for the animals with Cuckoo, Max and Judy. 4. During watching, pupils will learn about some common animals found in other parts of the world in terms of their habitats, features through the animals’ voice-overs. 5. During Max and Judy’s bus trip, pupils will see some scenic spots of Hong Kong such as Kap Shui Mun Bridge and Tsing Ma Bridge. They will also know where Lantau island and Tsing Yi are in that area. 1 6. After watching, teachers can distribute COPYMASTER 2 to pupils.
