During the next few days, you will need to research and write down facts on notecards (student must supply their own 3x5 notecards) about your WWII person. 1. Each notecard should have only one fact written on it. 2. Complete source cards. You will need to have a minimum of 4 sources, at least 3 different types. On your notecards, the facts that you will be graded on must include the following categories: Childhood, Training (before 1939), Role in war (1939-1945) and Other 5 childhood facts on his/her early childhood; birthplace; brothers and sisters anything that is interesting about his/her growing up ● 5 training facts about his training; what jobs did he have; how did this job or training lead to his role in the war. (if you chose a woman then answer What was her education background before the war?) ● 5 role facts on the person’s role in the war; for what was he famous (if you chose a woman answer – What was she doing during the war?) 10 other facts of your choosing (other). You can use facts from this category and add them to the any other category. Label your note cards with Student’s Name, English period, WWII person’s name researching, Category and number of card for that category, and one fact that fits in that category. Poster Project After completing the research, your notes will be turned into a poster. You also required to do an oral presentation, on your WWII person, using the poster board you create. On the poster you will need to include: 1. a map of where they were located during the war 2. a picture of the person 3. a quote from your person 4. 5 childhood facts and 5 war facts on separate sides of the board 5.
