MARY POPPINS BASE COSTUME LIST
These are the items your student will provide from home to wear
as a base. We will provide all of the other costume pieces.
Please wear these items to the dress rehearsal on November 10th
and your performance day of November 14th or 15th. Thanks so
much!
Hair should be neatly styled and appropriate for the character.
Generally, out of the way of face, but not in the way of any hats.
Mary: White tank top and white tights or leggings, black or brown dress shoes or
dance shoes, hair in a bun
Bert: Black or brown pants and MP tshirt, black or brown shoes
Jane Banks: White tank top and white tights or leggings, black dress shoes
(something like mary janes), hair styled neatly and down/long
Michael: Banks- black or brown pants and white button down shirt, dress shoes
(like loafers) or dance shoes, pull back hair in low ponytail
George Banks: Black pants, white button-down shirt. Dark dress shoes
Winnifred Banks: White tank top and white tights or leggings, hair styled neatly,
dress shoes
Katie Nana, Ellen, Cook (Jockeys): black pants and white button-down shirt, black
shoes (or dance shoes), hair in bun or pulled back (if possible)
Bird Lady and Bankers (Dawes Sr, Jr and Bank Teller)/Waiters: Black pants and
white button down shirt, black shoes (or as dark as possible)
Nannies/Market Sellers/Reporters- Brown or black pants and White button down
shirt, black shoes (as dark as possible) or dance shoes, hair pulled back
Constable/guard- Black pants and White button down shirt, black or dark shoes
A NOTE ABOUT SHOES: For most, please use a black (or as dark of a shoe) as you
can get. Dance shoes (in any color) will work as well.
