Sword in the Stone Skit, Chapter 6 You have been asked to perform a segment of Sword in the Stone for a fifth grade class, which isn’t able to fully comprehend the novel because of the higher level content and vocabulary. This particular class is hard to keep entertained because they are a very social/talkative group. Also, they only take things seriously if the people up in front of them are truly committed and knowledgeable of the topic they are presenting. So you will need to make your performance detailed, accurate, entertaining, and take it seriously. 1. Give your skit a title 2. List the page numbers of the event that you are covering under the title 3. List all of the characters (including the narrator if there is one) from that section. 4. List 2-5 main events from that section 5. On your own paper, compose a skit that is in script format, incorporating the main events you wrote down in step 4. The skit must match what happened in the story, including details, and the characters must be accurately portrayed based on their personality and actions. 6. EACH PERSON IN THE SCRIPT MUST HAVE HIS/HER OWN COPY!!!!!!! You group will lose points if any member does not have his/her copy on the day of the performance, even if it is a recorded performance. 7. Rehearse your script and make sure that it is 1-2 minutes long. Props and costumes are optional, but suggested. 8. You may also conduct a puppet show or a pre-recorded skit. You may work with someone in another class, but each person must have a copy of the recording to present in class. Title: Page #s: Characters: Events:
