A selection of these products will be on display at the 2015 SME Annual Conference & Expo held by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration. As part of the internationally operating Continental Corporation, ContiTech will be present at booth 1043 from February 15 to 18. “At our booth we are showcasing our full spectrum of high-quality, flexible ContiTech conveyor belts ranging from special bulk conveyor POCKETLIFT® to monitoring solutions such as CONTI® INSPECT,” explains Christoph Seeger, Market Director Americas at the Continental Conveyor Belt Group. “Our aim is to breathe life into our new claim ‘conveying excellence’ and develop a better understanding in the American mining industry of the advantages our specialist solutions offer for continuous bulk material transportation.” Safe, cost-effective and efficient steep angle transportation is guaranteed with ContiTech’s FLEXOWELL® technology operating at angles of up to 90°. A single belt can navigate horizontal as well as vertical routes without difficulty. In addition, customers benefit from short installation times and low-noise, eco-friendly and energy-saving operations. FLEXOWELL® also forms the basis of POCKETLIFT®, the vertical conveying solution is on display at the ContiTech booth. The POCKETLIFT® is capable of transporting up to 6,000 tons of material per hour or over a maximum lift height of 700 m per single conveyor, which can be modularly stacked to any needed height. 1/4 Your contact: Antje Lewe, phone: +49 511 938-1304 -2The fabric-reinforced rubber pockets can be installed and removed individually. This structure makes POCKETLIFT® much more compact than conventional systems like skip-hoists and therefore ideal for handling materials in mining shafts – an advantage that has been successfully tried and tested at the American White County Coal (WCC) Mine in Carmi, Illinois. Eco-friendly, flexible specialist solutions Also on display at the SME exhibition will be SICON®, a transport solution that is both economical and eco-friendly. Robust SICON® belts can withstand even the toughest conditions and offer a winning combination of long service life and flexibility. The enclosed conveyor system can travel through tight curves with ease, eliminating the need for transfer points. It prevents dust and dirt from accumulating and avoids any negative environmental impact. “The ContiTech booth is running a demonstration video of SICON® showing the capabilities of the system,” Seeger explains. Another display unit will house the STAHLCORD® ST 10,000. This wear-, rot and corrosionresistant and thermally stable steel cord conveyor belt provides long years of service while requiring little maintenance. The showcase will be completed by a presentation of the highperformance belt monitoring systems CONTI® PROTECT and CONTI® INSPECT. Additionally ContiTech will participate in a poster board session at a networking event for the Bulk Material Handling attendees during the conference. 2/4 Your contact: Antje Lewe, phone: +49 511 938-1304 -3- Captions CT_CBG_SICON.jpg The enclosed SICON® conveyor belt negotiates tight curve with ease, eliminating the need for transfer points.
