Minutes from 11/28/12 meeting were reviewed by members
Approve Minutes of present. Michelle Gorelow moved to approve the minutes and

Informational
Received an update from Theresa Bohannan about the Baby
Presentation
BEARS survey. Confirmed that they can contact mothers
through the Birth registry information. Discussed the option of
adding questions to the core questionnaire around key
strategies such as breastfeeding and substance abuse as
needed. Seeking project funding. Will continue to move
project forward and keep the vision alive.

still have an open secretary position and are now accepting
nominations and or volunteers.
2. 2013 Focus/Scope of Work – tabled until next meeting
3. Meetings in 2013 – discussed the possibility of a state-wide
meeting or videoconference in March.

MCH Website shell was reviewed by the committee
(NVMCH.ORG). Recommendation that the Education
Committee would assist with vetting the content of this
website going forward.
5. SAPTA Update – Pam Beal met with SAPTA to discuss
collaborating on PSAs and key messages.
6. Melanie Kauffman presented information on the CMS
Connecting Kids to Coverage Outreach and Enrollment
Federal grant opportunity due Feb 21. Recommended that

Next Meeting
the MCH Coalition apply as a group and the Committee was
in favor of moving forward with the application. Requested
letters of support from Steering Committee Members. If
awarded, an Access Committee will be established to work
around the issues outlined in the grant.
2012 Final Report – tabled
Subcommittee Reports – Michelle Gorelow volunteered to
chair the Education Committee to work on the MCH
Conference.
