Kim Amato – Baby’s Bounty Tea – at Mandarin Oriental – For more information, visit www.babysbounty.org Emily Ruzzine – starting of planning for 2014 Nevada Health Conference – looking for people to join planning committee – committee will meet on the first Tuesday of each month – looking for more involvement from committee members. emily@immunizenevada.org. The conference will take place in October, although a date has not yet been set. Gabrielle – The Rape Crisis Center is planning a youth leadership summit focused on violence prevention. Youth will be asked to brainstorm a project. Will take place later in August (near back to school). April 7-13. Members were provided a toolkit for National Public Health Week with a breakdown for each day and suggested activities to be involved. Elizabeth shared the statewide coalition’s plan to create an OB/GYN mailing in partnership with the Southern Nevada Immunization and Health Coalition (SNIHC) and include materials which will respond to each of our identified priority areas, especially as they relate to prevention. It was also suggested that membership contact their local legislator and ask that the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act be maintained and strengthened at the next legislative session (February 2015). Jill Slaboda, HealthInsight – QI Initiative to Reduce/Eliminate Elective Deliveries HealthInsight is looking for opportunities to share/spread information and a toolkit for helping hospitals reduce/eliminate elective deliveries. Jill will provide data for Nevada at future meetings.
