Job Description Duplin County Schools Response to Intervention Coordinator Purpose: Facilitate/attend intervention meetings, assist with creating academic and behavioral interventions/data collection, act as a liaison between regular education and the exceptional children's program with interventions and referrals, provide professional development to staff, attend county curriculum team meetings, and attend NCDPI Multi-Tiered System of Supports meetings as the representative for DCS. Essential Functions: Facilitate/attend intervention monthly data meetings at K-6 students. Assist with creating academic and behavioral accommodations, modifications, interventions and data collection for Tier I, II, and III students. Act as a liaison between regular education and the exceptional children's program with interventions and referrals. Provide professional development to staff. Attend School Improvement Team meetings. Attend County Curriculum team meetings. Attend NCDPI MTSS meetings as the representative for DCS. Facilitate the implementation of PBIS to support necessary behavior interventions. Monitor the fidelity of Personal Education Plans (PEPs) K-8. Facilitates the implementation of Multi -Tiered System of Supports throughout DCS. Global Education Provide cultural sensitivity training for teachers and principals. Support global awareness to establish a respectful environment for diverse populations of students. Facilitate the DCS global education plan. Lead the DCS Global Education Committee. Assist teachers and principals in anticipating the unique learning needs of their students based on their cultural background. Facilitates global awareness training to promote trust and understanding throughout the school community. Facilitate/ attend meetings with principals that promote teachers embracing diversity in the school community and in the world. Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Needed Ability to recommend accommodations, modifications, interventions and data collection for academics and behavior for Tier I, II and III Ability to facilitate meetings/trainings and work as a team player Knowledge of the Areas/Criteria of Exceptionality for North Carolina Familiarity with Dibels/Reading 3-D, AIMSweb, Powerschool, Schoolnet Requirements: Masters in Education preferred Five years of teaching experience preferred
