Are you a teen who has an interest in animals, horses specifically? Would you like to
learn more about how to provide proper care and also training to a horse who needs a
buddy of their own?
Peaceful Acres Horses (PAH) is offering a unique program to high school students who
wish to expand their knowledge of horses at our 156 acre equine rescue sanctuary
located in Schenectady County, the town of Pattersonville ( Schalmont school district) .
The program is open to only 6 participants per class who attend a local high school.
Hours: After school Wednesdays or Thursdays 3:30 – 5:30
Buddy Up 101 is an 8 week course; courses offered March – December
Buddy Up 101 for Teens will allow the participant to work with a “horse of their own”, a ”Buddy” who lives at the
sanctuary because they were rescued from neglect, homelessness or at risk of being slaughtered. Buddy Up 101 teaches
natural techniques to training the under-trained horse, the necessities of feed , care, compassion and consistency for
wellness and quality of life. This is an interactive course where teens will become proficient at horse care and handling.
Buddy Up 101 is a class that is ideal for teens who wish to learn more about horses and donkeys and also love nature
and the outdoors. For anyone considering a college career in Equine Studies, Veterinary or Animal Advocacy, Buddy Up
101 is ideal for your college admissions application or employment applications. *PAH is Global Federation of Animal
Sanctuaries verified.
As a special collaborative program with PAH’s participating program partners and Blue Ribbon Champions, Peaceful Acres Horses is
offering Buddy Up 101 for teens as a small group program at a discounted rate, only $55 per person/per class, $440 per course
