Message from Julie Prohaska, President of the Board
of Directors:
We at the Arts Center (QVCAH) are delighted to start
the new Fiscal Year of 2015/16 off with three wonderful
exhibits in our beautiful Galleries, as well as a very
successful children’s art program, the Autumn Artfest in
September, and our Annual Art and Craft Holiday Sale
in November. We have already shared the excitement of
having Audrey Helen Weber, the recipient of our new
Artist Residency Program, in one of our studios and a
weekend of Open Studios, showcasing her work and the
work of our Resident Artist, Charles Gaulin. We are in
the process of planning programs for the next calendar
year, starting with an exhibit to help celebrate
Southbridge’s Bicentennial.
We are full of enthusiasm for what lies ahead and for the
impact we can make on our community and the whole
region. We do hope you will take the time to stop by our
galleries and have fun at our upcoming events! And don't
forget to bring the kids! All is open to the public without
charge and we welcome you.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting time at the
Arts Center, you might consider becoming a member. For
a very small fee you can help us bring to the Center much
needed programs for children and adults. Please go to
www.qvcah.org for details and to download an
application form or call me: Julie at 203-733-6859. I’ll be
happy to help!
With best wishes for a beautiful Fall Season,
Julie

Announcements:
Audrey Helen Weber was selected as the first
artist for the new QVCAH Artist Residency
Program. As a QVCAH Resident Artist she
receives free studio space for three months at
the Art Center, a small stipend, opportunities to present her
work to the public, and all the resources we can access to push
her art making further. The Center hosted an Open Studio for
Audrey and Charlie Gaulin, who also has a studio at the Art
Center, on the 15th & 16th of August. The public was invited
to meet the artists in their studios to see their work space and
artwork. Audrey will be conducting a fall workshop in the
Southbridge public schools and will have a final gallery show
at the close of her residency period. Look for those dates
soon. We look forward to seeing you there!
