Dear Parents,
RE: SPORTING SPECTACULAR AT ST PHILIP HOWARD
Year 5 have been invited to take part in a Sporting Spectacular at St Philip Howard Catholic High School,
on Thursday 5th March, 2015. It is an all-day event during which the children will have the opportunity
to participate in a variety of sporting activities and competitions.
We will be travelling by train from Chichester Station, leaving school at approximately 9 am and
returning before the end of the school day. Please can you ensure your child is at school promptly on
this day. The subsidised cost of the visit will be £2.50. Please make cheques payable to “St. Richard’s
Catholic Primary School” and write your child’s name on the back. This is a non-refundable voluntary
contribution, but if insufficient funds are received the visit will have to be cancelled.
Your child will need a packed lunch and sufficient drinks to keep them going (please cancel hot lunches).
We will travel to and from the event in school uniform, and your child will need to bring with them:
PE kit / Trainers / School jumper / Light water proof coat / Drinks bottle with name on it.
We will also need volunteers to travel with us to and from the event. If you are able to help, please can
you either speak to the office or myself.

Re: Year 5 – Sporting Spectacular at St. Philip Howard Catholic High School

I give permission for my child …………………………………… to take part in the visit to St. Philip Howard
Catholic High School, Barnham on 5th March, 2015, travelling by train. I understand that while the
school, staff and helpers in charge of the party will take all reasonable care of the young people,
unless they are negligent they cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered by
my son / daughter arising during or out of the journey.

I enclose a non-refundable contribution of £2.50, (cheques payable to ‘St. Richard’s Catholic Primary
School’)

