Symbols and meanings 1) One of the most famous symbols around that have a negative response off most people would have to be the Swastika. The Swastika was originally a Hindu symbol and had been around since 3300 BCE. The symbol was adopted by the Nazi party of Germany in 1920. It is looked at so negative because of all the terrible things that the Nazi’s and Adolf Hitler did back in that period to the Jews and also because of how racist it is. It has been outlawed in Germany so it cannot be used there. Some other symbols that are looked at negative on could be the KKK symbol, the confederate flag, and the Baphomet symbol. 2) When using these kinds of symbols visual merchandisers have to be real careful. They have to think about who they are going to make angry by using certain symbols. If they use the wrong ones they will just have to take it down or could even risk the business getting into a lot of trouble for being racist and offending people. It easier just not to use any types of these symbols and just stick to ones that are not racist and going to offend people. Baphomet Symbol Swastika Adam Borisek KKK Symbol Confederate Flag
