Pick a project(s). Read all directions carefully! You can do whatever project(s) you like, but your
total must be 100 points. Ex: You can do 1 project worth 100 points, 4 projects worth 25 points
each, 2 projects worth 50 points, etc. Be creative! Tell me your project(s) before you begin.

100 points: Famous person
o
o
Research a famous Spanish/Hispanic person

Ex: architects, poets, authors, painters, singers, actors, etc.

3 sources, MLA format bibliography; NO WIKIPEDIA/BLOGS.
Based on research, write 15 interview questions and 15 answers in complete, Spanish
sentences.

o
Ex: When is your birthday? My birthday is May 25, 1980.
Give a classmate your questions to ask you in an interview and videotape. You must dress
up like the person and be asked the Spanish questions and respond with Spanish answers.
You will record this and send it to me via email or DVD.
o
Your partner will ask you 10 of the 15 questions (you pick); it’s not part of their grade.
You will answer their questions in complete, Spanish answers based on your research. You
will pretend you’re that person.
o
Answers must be memorized.
o
No plagiarism! Do your own work! NO TRANSLATORS!

Paper and interview questions will be collected. Pronunciation is part of the grade!
Grammar and vocabulary is part of the grade, too for all 15 questions and answers.

Visual: Create a poster “Fakebook” page about that person in Spanish/English. Must be
factual information. Make a poster to look like Facebook.

100 points: Informational Spanish Youtube video
o
Pick a grammar point from Spanish 1. Tell me before you begin and make sure you’re very
familiar with the information and use correct knowledge.
o
Create a Youtube video to upload and present to the class to explain and clarify a topic in
Spanish grammar (ex: Conjugations back video about AR verb conjugations)
o
Must be memorized.
o
You will supply the video camera and do all editing. You will also upload the video to
Youtube. Send me the link and/or key words.
o
Pick a modern song to use as the music and change the words to create the video. Must be
catchy!
o
You must tell me your partner(s), song and Spanish topic to be used.
o
Group of no more than 4 people.
o
Pronunciation will be graded.
o
Creativity is part of your grade. Use props and make it interesting to watch/listen to.
o
Must have CORRECT GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY INFORMATION.

Quality and effort must be evident to receive full credit.

Group members must provide a detailed list of what each person did each day and how
they contributed to the information/video. There must be equal distribution of work!

50 points: Vocabulary/Grammar Collage
o
Create a Spanish collage of grammar and vocabulary from the year.

Spanish 1 words/grammar.

Must include at least 50 words/grammar points.


¼ or ½ vocab, at least ½ or ¾ grammar.
Must include pictures and be labeled with definite articles.

Ex: Vocab: picture of a dog- el perro. Grammar: picture of riding a bikeElla andó en bicicleta. (She rode the bike).

Send via email through PowerPoint presentation. One picture and labelvocab/grammar each slide. 51 total including title with name and period.

50 points: Spanish Holidays and Festivals
o
Research Spanish-speaking countries and their holidays/festivals.

Use at least 5 different sources. Provide an MLA bibliography with the sources;
NO WIKIPEDIA/BLOGS.

Explain in detail at least 5 interesting/different holidays and/or festivals.

At least 2 pages, double-spaced, 12 font, times new roman, 1 in. margins, 5 sources,
MLA format bibliography. English.
o
When finished researching and writing about the holidays, choose 1 and make a craft
associated with the holiday/festival. Additional research may be required.

o
Ex: sugar skulls for Day of the Dead
It must be culturally significant! I will collect the research, with bibliography, and the
craft.

50 points: Make a quiz
o
Pick a chapter from the Spanish 2 portion of your book.
o
Create a 50 point test using grammar and vocabulary from the chapter.
o
Include a variety of multiple choice questions, short answer, fill in the blank, matching,
scrambles, sentences, etc.

Multiple choice questions, matching, fill in the blank, scrambles and cierto o falso
questions are only 1 point!


Sentences and verb conjugations can be worth 2 each. MUST HAVE A VARIETY!

50 points: Alphabet Book
o
Create an alphabet book using the Spanish alphabet.
o
Each page needs:

1 letter, 1 word, 1 simple sentence using the word. Ex: A, agua, Me gusta beber
agua fría. There must also be a picture (internet and/or magazine)
o
All in Spanish.
o
Must look like a book.
o
Must be color and creative. Use details.
o
Some difficult letters: ñ- ñandu- similar to an ostrich; x- xilófono- xylophone; y- yateyacht, yac- yak (animal); u- universo- universe, uña- fingernail

o

You can also “google” these letters and get a list.
Individual.
50 points: Spanish map
o Create a map of all the Latin American countries or South American countries (including
Spain). You can “google” a blank map and fill in the information below.
o Draw:
 Major bodies of water- lakes, rivers (at least 5 total)
 At least 2 main tourist attractions in each country and explain. You can make a key.
 At least 3 major cities. Explain why those are important cities and why you chose
to include them. Provide information about what you can see there or
do/entertainment. Include a written paragraph (at least 10 sentences) in English
about each.



Create a playable game with Spanish 1 information. (ex: Jeopardy)

o
You will be asked a variety of Spanish questions by the teacher (any word from Spanish 1).

You will respond to the question in Spanish using correct grammar, vocabulary and
pronunciation.

Grade is based on answers to questions and pronunciation.
25 points: Research Jobs
o
Using a search engine (google, bing, yahoo), find at least 7 useful websites that discuss
jobs dealing with Spanish.
o
SEND me a copy of the websites used and provide an MLA bibliography of the sources
used. NO WIKIPEDIA/BLOGS.
o
When finished researching, pick 3 jobs that interest you, using your language skills.
Provide at least 1 page on each job. Tell me the following information:

Where are these jobs located?

How much money do they offer?

What kind of education is required? Are there any other pre-requisites?

What are the pros and cons of this job (at least 3 of each)?

What skills are necessary before beginning this job?

Why is it interesting?

Would you like to explore this as a career? Why or why not?

Include anything else you’d like in your summary that is interesting or important to
know about this job.


o
Create a culturally significant mural related to Spanish and it’s culture. You can
concentrate on one country or a variety.
o
You can use a variety of artwork from hand-drawn, painted, magazine cut-outs, clip-art,
internet pictures, etc.

Must be done on poster board. Pictures only.
o
Included with the mural is at least a 1 page written explanation of the significance of the
mural and why it’s culturally important. You must explain the pictures in detail and their
significance.

Ex: bullfighting; briefly explain a bullfight and why it’s important to Spanish
culture.

1-2 pages, double-spaced, 12 font, 1 in. margins, times new roman, 3 sources, MLA
format bibliography. NO WIKIPEDIA/BLOGS.


25 points: New Vocabulary
o
Choosing a topic of your choice (must be school appropriate), create a list of 25 new
vocabulary words, not already in your book or glossary (Spanish 1). Ex: sports. Include the
following:

Definite and indefinite articles

Spelling and accents.
Along with the list, make 10 sentences using 10 of the new vocabulary words in sentences.
Be creative.

Include where the words were found, if using the internet (websites).

o
Make a list of Spanish synonyms and antonyms. Use your book and the internet to create a

In addition to new list, create a separate list of rhyming Spanish words. At least 5.
o

Recite the list to the teacher.
