Who is White Buffalo Calf Woman?
The legend of White Buffalo Calf Woman is ancient (2000 years old) and is central to the
spiritual practices of many Native American nations. Several versions of her story are told.
In the Lakota tradition she is said to have appeared to two warriors as a white buffalo calf which
changed into a beautiful young woman. She told them she would return in four days with her
sacred bundle, which she did. She spent four days with the people, bestowing on them the seven
sacred hoops as seven sacred ceremonies for the basis of culture. She taught them how to be
caretakers of the land.
The sacred bundle was the pipe, from then on known as the White Buffalo Calf Pipe. She left the
pipe in the care of the people saying that one day she would return for it and bring balance and
harmony to the world. The birth of a White Buffalo Calf will herald her return.
White Buffalo Calf Dakini shows her returning, pregnant with the White Buffalo Calf.
The Sioux describe how, amongst many other gifts of culture and spirit, she showed women how
their role was of equal importance, so promoting the circle of love that holds men and women
together.
When she departed, she rolled over four times, each time turning into a different color and
revealing that she represents all directions of the medicine wheel, all root races.
Buffalo is her vehicle and totem. She brings with her archetype the landscape of North American
Indians, written as an eternal cosmic signature in the mindsky.

Nature & Description of Dakini
As Angel represents heavenly peace, so White Buffalo Calf Dakini represents peace on earth –
true culture disseminated amongst the peoples.
She bears the buffalo horns upon her head as her crown. She is pregnant with the White Buffalo
Calf. Its image decorates the white buckskin in which she is clothed
She walks on clouds as she is heaven-sent. In her wake the spirits of many white buffalo can be
seen, as spirit beings ready to re-enter the world of the living.
She holds the chununpa, the sacred peace pipe. It is decorated with twelve eagle feathers and a
thirteenth baby eagle feather to denote the White Buffalo Calf of her prophesized second
coming. Seven smoke rings rise from the pipe, representing the seven golden hoops of culture
that White Buffalo calf Woman brings.
A bank of pinkish clouds surrounds her. This is envisioned as a giant smoke ring that has been
manifested from her prayers, emanating from her and wrapping around the whole planet to safely
cocoon and be the midwife for the new era of peace which she is birthing.
She is the one who brings peace to earth and executes the cosmic imprint. She is the chosen
representative to usher in the new age of the RainbowTtribe, where all peoples live in peace and
all colors and nations are honored as one. She is the holder of the integrated Medicine Wheel,
where the four directions, the four elements, the four root races, are united in a great medicine
work, the work where earthly manifestation is the mirror of Divine design. Peace and harmony
can reign again in all the worlds.
She offers the pipe of peace, passing the sacred smoke - representing connection to the realm of
spirit - around the circle.
Her circle includes all races and all peoples, as long as they honor the sacred trust, the sacred
bond that recognizes and respects the spirit in all things. This is represented in the image by the
habitations that extend across the vision field of the new reality she heralds. There are not only
Indian dwellings, but those of different indigenous peoples from around the world, symbolizing
the new harmonic which is inclusive rather than exclusive. The whole image represents a new
tribalisation.
As she is the heavenly gift that graced the American Indians with her presence, her rebirth is a
blessing for all who hold the vibration of peace in their hearts.

As in the pure white of the buffalo calf, so your inner purity of intention is ready to be re-birthed.
You don’t want to accept the ways that have been handed down to you, ways that include
injustice and deceit, discrimination on the basis of color and race, intolerance of diversity,
insentivity to nature and an attitude that ever takes and never gives.
You are ready to envision a new way of being.
White Buffalo Calf Dakini’s quest is your quest. You have come here because you need to find
ways to talk with those hidden parts of yourself that are angry and frustrated and are hidden deep
within. They will erupt in unexpected ways if you do not find ways to release them. Some of
them are hopes and dreams that have died, been slayed by the cruelty of the world. We must save
them. They represent a way of being where all is sacred, nothing is separate, and to bless all
things is to walk the Beauty Path. These ways of being are buried deep below the surface. They
must be contacted and released with the blessing of peace.
If you are seeking guidance about a relationship or an endeavor, what is there within its structure
that has been frustrated and repressed? Find that element or elements and seek to find ways to
transmute the denied energy by establishing channels for its release in new, vital and harmonious
forms.
Choose the role of the peacemaker.
What stands in the way of your total and unconditional acceptance of all beings? Are you ready
to relinquish your desire to subjugate and dominate?
Peace can involve compromise. You have to accept the terms and conditions of others, even if
they are not the same as your own.
Where is the rigidity within you, the intolerance? What do you find unacceptable?
Time to delve into your held values and examine how many of them are truly in tune with the
truth of your heart and how many are ‘hand me downs’. Once you have some clarity in this
matter, look at what you are resisting anew.
Try to see things from a completely different perspective. Imagine a world view where all life is
considered sacred and all beings are part of your family.
Forgive all for what they do, what they have done, even what they will do, as a mother forgives
her child.
The foundation of peace is forgiveness. Holding anger and resentment in your heart hurts you as
much as it does your ‘enemy’.
Forgive all for the situation that we find ourselves in on the planet. See it as a result of ignorance
and an opportunity for evolution. Sometimes the heart has to be broken open
before it can feel again…
Accept all and associate more closely with those with whom you have most affinity and those
who share core values.
It is said a wise person spends their time with those who bring out the best, not the worst, in
them.

The Indian nations speak of taking no action without considering its effect on seven generations.
For the main body of humanity, their sense of continuity, their piece of immortality, lies in their
children and their children’s children. So for your own sake, do not steal your children’s future,
your own future. Make peace with the earth now. She is your greatest friend and supporter. As
your mother who has loved and cherished you all your life, she now needs some support from
you.
Time for us all to give back.
We are caretakers of the land. That is the sacred trust. Let us start taking care again and let it start
with you.
When you watch events on the news, visualize peaceful solutions to all aspects of strife you
witness. Even if the plane of reality does not immediately reflect your projections, keep doing it.
Consciousness is the leader of all that manifests. The consciousness of those who hold the light
of peace can reach critical mass and shift reality.
We can imagine. We have the power of compassion behind us, the greatest power of all.
The role of the peacemaker is high on the charts of material and spiritual attainment. Become the
peacemaker for the sake of others, the future of the planet, and for the sake of your own immortal
being.
The instructions said to be given to the native people at the time of creation hold timeless
wisdom which can be applied to your life now. Their basic message is as follows:
Take care of Mother Earth and all races of humanity.
Honor all life and support that intention with your actions and prayers.
Give thanks for life at all times and offer that gratitude to the source of all creation.
Hold love in your heart as your primary sentiment and express it freely.
Be humble and see humility as the crowning jewel of wisdom.
Be kind and compassionate towards yourself and in all your dealings with others.
Share your feelings and what is important to you.
Seek integrity in your relationship to yourself and as honesty with others.
Share your wisdom with all, not just those of your own culture, race or nation.
Indications
A situation may arise that presents you with choice. Choose the path of peace, the path of least
resistance. War begets war, the circle is unending. Choose to relinquish this cycle and opt instead
for the circle of life, the sacred hoop.
Practices
1. You are invited to join White Buffalo Calf Woman in a meditation for peace. Inner peace and
peace which emanates from you to all the creatures of the earth and for mankind. Visualize a
bank of clouds from which the vision of White Buffalo Calf Woman emerges, smiling and
offering the pipe of peace. As you take the pipe she offers you become her. You and she are
one. You/she brings the pipe to her lips and inhales the fragrant smoke. You exhale a
beautiful mist, a smoke ring, which arises around you. It is pinkish white and gold. It
encircles you then spreads out to encircle the whole planet. This gentle mist is the midwife of
the new paradigm which is being birthed, a new age of peace for planet earth. Envision it.

2. White Buffalo Calf Dakini wants our help in freeing the souls of the many Indians who were
slaughtered without being able to have the sacred rites performed. They are trapped within
the earth and need peace and liberation. You are asked to help her find ways to bring the
smoke of the pipe of peace into the lower realms. Their salvation is connected with the future
of earth. Their anger and frustration must be appeased or it will contribute to the earth’s
subterranean upheaval in the coming times.
This portal acts as a way-station for those souls, showing them the cosmic eternal imprint of
the ‘happy hunting ground’ so that they may take heart and let the smoke of peace pervade
their beings so they may move on the smoke, through this virtual land, up to the Indians’
heavenly abode. So may it be.
3. Send blessings and peace to all American Indians, those in body and those in spirit, for they
are the caretakers of the heart of our land and the guardians of the knowledge of the sacred
ways.
