From the Director: Hooray! The new school
year has begun! We have lots of new faces
at Care-A-Lot and some returning friends. I
hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is
ready for a new school year. Please make
note that Care-A-Lot has a new web page!
You can visit www.care-a-lot.net to check
out the latest happenings here at Grand
Island. We have a photo gallery and a place
to post news for parents. I also have a new
email linked to the webpage. Please change
your contact information to
grandisland@care-a-lot.net. I am still
checking both for the time being.

Nursery 1: A great big Care-A-Lot welcome
to all the new faces in Nursery 1! Kacey,
Edward, Alesia, and Nicholas we are so
happy you have joined us for a great early
learning experience! Please feel free to let
us know if you have any questions or
requests regarding your child. This month
we will be having fun with the “Head,
Shoulders, Knees and Toes Theme” as well
as getting to know all of our new friends
Miss Jenn and Miss Jarliyn
Nursery 2: September brings lots of new
friends to Nursery 2! We are excited to
have you all! This month is all about “Head,
Shoulders, Knees and Toes”. Week 1 we
will talk about eyes and ears. We will look
and listen to lots of great sights and sounds.
Week 2 we will talk about our mouth and
nose. We will taste some sweet things and
smell some stinky things! Week 3 is all
about fingers and toes. Look for lots of fun
hand and footprint art projects this week.
We finish off with belly buttons! Please
remember we do play outdoors on the
playground and your child needs to have
sneakers each day.

Toddler 1: We welcome all the new kiddos
into Toddler 1 WE are excited to start
making new memories! To kick off the
month of September we are going to go
back to school with baby animals. Week 1
we are hopping off to school with little
bunnies. We will be making pet photo
books of if you have any pic’s of your furry
friends send them in please. Week 2 we
will make friends with puppies. Week 3 and
4 we will meows with the kitties. We will
make lots of crafts and play some kitty
games. By the end of September we will be
very excited to talk about all the animals’
friends we met!

Miss Lindsey and Miss Jen
Toddler 2: Welcome to Toddler 2! WE are
so happy to have you join our room! As we
kick off the new year we will be exploring
our new room, meeting new friends and
learning new and exciting things!
Throughout September we will be adjusting
to our new schedule and practicing sharing
with our friends. As the seasons change,
we will be learning about fall colors and fall
festivities. We will even become apple
testers We look forward to seeing
everybody learn and grow as the year
progresses.

Preschool 1: Welcome to Preschool1. We
are very excited to have your child continue
on their journey of learning and discovery
with us! All year we will be working on
name recognition, numbers, letters and
shapes. We will continue to work on fine
and gross motor skills. Our day includes
many activities – circle time, stories, songs,
music & movement, art and center time.
We will spend time outdoors each day.
Each week we have a theme to learn about.
September is all about beginnings and
movement. We will be observing changes
in nature as summer turns into fall. We will
be very bus the next few weeks learning
new routines and remembering that the #1
rule in preschool is to HAVE FUN! We hope
your child enjoys their journey with us.

Preschool 2: As we start our new school
year, we would like to officially welcome
you to Preschool 2! September is a month
of change and new beginnings, new
surroundings and new friends. It is our goal
to provide an atmosphere that will
encourage your child’s positive self-image
and sense of independence. WE have
planned a variety of interesting topics to
trigger your child’s imagination and thinking
skills. We will have show and tell on
Wednesday’s this year. Please have your
child bring something to share with his/her
friends. Thank you for letting us be a part
of your child’s early learning years!! If you
have any questions or concerns please
don’t hesitate to ask!
Miss Debbie and Miss Tara
School Agers: Back to School! We will be
having Homework Club each day from 4:00
– 4:30. Please be sure to recheck all of your
child’s work when you get home. We will
be going outdoors at 4:30. We have a great
group of Kindergartners –Fifth Graders this
school year and we can’t wait to have some
fun!
