hat on its head. (P.S. make sure you have a pencil or pen handy when you
ask them, so you are prepared.)
6) Who was the famous Dutch Neo-Impressionist artist that was known to
cut off his ear? (Hint: the artist’s name is in a doodle drawing on the “art
gallery” wall inside the art room and his ear is missing. There are also
samples of his paintings on the “art gallery” wall in the art room. Or you
can google the subject for answer over break.)
7) A. Who was the famous Midwest American artist that painted “the man
with the pitchfork and woman next to him? This man was also the
“founder” of Regionalist art? B. What state was he from? (p.s. the image is
on the “Art Gallery” wall in the Art room.
8) What was the name of the painting of “the man with the pitchfork and
woman next to him”? (Hint: there is a picture of it on the “art gallery” wall
inside the art room.)
9) What famous French museum is the famous “Mona Lisa” painting in?
(Hint: this museum is in the famous city of Paris. Not Paris, Tennessee!)
10)What is the large art museum in Nashville that now has a big temporary
art exhibit of the famous paintings by Norman Rockwell? (Hint: he did a
famous painting of a family with a large turkey around a Thanksgiving
table. You can Google for Nashville museums if you need.)
11)Who is the famous local Tennessee artist who does paintings of Reelfoot
Lake in NW, TN. (Hint: Google if you need. There is also a famous fastfood chain that sells “Big Macs” that has his same last name.)

13)What is the official Tennessee state insect? Draw me a picture. (Hint:
These are considered “lucky” in some cultures.)
14)What color were the shoes in a very famous song about “suede shoes”
sung by one of the most famous American singers from Memphis, TN?
15)What color do you get when you mix red and blue?
16) Name the 3 primary colors. (Hint: if you need to look at the color wheel
in the art room, or online, you can.)
17) How many colors are there in a rainbow? What order do they go from
bottom to top? (Hint: you may need to Google a picture. Also, the color
order is order of colors that blend to make other colors. For instance,
orange would be between red and yellow because red & yellow make
orange when blended.)
18) What is the color of the hottest stars in the universe? (Hint: This does not
mean “Hollywood” stars, but stars in the galaxy. 
19) A. Name three colors on the color wheel that are considered to be
“warm” colors. B. Bring me 3 samples of these “warm” colors on items or
objects you find. (Example: small cutting of yarn, piece of wrapping paper
from your holiday, a leaf, a “pop-top”, cutting from a cereal box, or any
creative item you can think of. Doesn’t have to be big.)
20) A. Name three colors on the color wheel that are considered to be “cool”
colors. B. Bring me 3 samples of these colors on items or objects you find.
(Example: small cutting of yarn, piece of wrapping paper from your
holiday, a leaf, a “pop-top”, cutting from a cereal box, or any creative item
you can think of. Doesn’t have to be big.)

newspaper, call the newspaper, ask your parents or look online.)

(Hint: it starts with a “G” and ends with an “M”. You can Google or ask
people too.)
25) What is the city in the state of Tennessee that is named after a capital city
in ancient Egypt and was an important center during much of Egyptian
history. (Hint: this city has a large “pyramid” in it.)
26) What is the name of the very large brand new contemporary regional art,
science & history museum in Obion County? (Hint: it is in Union City and
has 2 words in its name.)
27) What is the middle name of Mrs. Torrie Dodds, technology teacher at
Northview?
28) What is the state that Northview’s principal Mr. Jones is originally from?
29) If you were to invent a brand new line of shoes or boots, what would
your business and product logo look like to help market your new line of
shoes/boots? Draw this logo & submit with the rest of your answers.

Renaissance take place? (Hint: Harlem is in Manhattan, tell me what city
this is in. Tell me what decades this took place.)
32) Draw a self-portrait doodle stick drawing illustrating something you did
over holiday break. Make sure you include yourself in the drawing.
33) Who is the famous artist that lived in Mrs. Sanderson’s hometown? What
is the name of the artist and the town? (Hint: this artist may have been
the one who painted a famous man holding a pitchfork, which is in
Question #7&#8. This painting may be posted on the “art gallery” wall in
the art room, with the artist’s name under it. (Mrs. Sanderson’s room,
