Teachers continue working in PLCs and PD Focus continues to be the Common Core standards and responding to all student needs (those needing support and challenges) Streetwise Autism support 7:45-8:15 Hundred Mile Club grant (Mrs. Dow & Ms. Herr) –Daily Positive Behavior Challenge – Pillars of Character & Golden Tickets Monthly recognition students selected at end of month 2nd Grade – Great Reading Challenge in October Declamation -preparation Parkview StarParty/Harvest Festival – Nov 13 (Changed dates) Book it! Contest – Intervention teachers (end of Sept and on-going) Bully Prevention Month – Events to be scheduled school wide/ along with Pillars of character October 21-25 Oct 31 wear Orange and Black Day – Fall Harvest preparation Activities/crafting tied to common core standards National Dance Institute of New Mexico – Tiny Tots from Parkview Performance at Macey Center December 13 10:00am, 1:00pm and 7:00pm PAC meeting Nov 19 Spelling Bee Third grade field trip to Cows and more event at the Fairgrounds Parent Advisory Meeting October 23 – Agenda attached Parents are taking a more visible role in the school are helping making copies and making plans for more involvement Reader’s Raise the Roof – conducted by parents and attended by parents and families Readers Raise the Roof – Great Turn out for the Raise the Roof event – positive feedback from the surveys conducted afterwards about 200+ people attended. This event was successful in so many ways: Collaboration # OF DROP- between teachers, parents, and community. Our school goal is to develop a tight-knit community centered school; parents were engaged in the activity learning how to read with their children utilizing the reading comprehension strategies. Walk and roll to school – Presbyterian selected Parkview to engage in their Day of Service.
