1. The SaucerNet Satellite Company offers an awesome deal for new customers of
$119 for hook up and then $45.50 a month to get 500 channels.
a. Write SaucerNet’s awesome monthly plan as an equation.
To begin with, write this equation with the total equal to y and the
changing amount, in this case months, equal to x. The $119 is
constant, but the monthly cost changes with the number of months, so
the $45.50 is multiplied to x. Therefore the equation is
y = 45.50x + 119
b. Calculate the cost if you use SaucerNet for 24 months.
In this case x = 24, so y = 45.50(24) + 119
y = $1211
*This is what SaucerNet will cost for 24 months.
