SPEAKING OF FLOWERS…..Are you searching for a way to serve one of
the missions of the church? If so, consider serving on the Flower
Committee, which is made up of a chairman plus one or two assistants
who serve for one month. Currently, we need assistants. Duties are:
1) assist the Chairman for one month; and 2) deliver flowers after
worship to brighten the day of a member/friend of the church. Please
speak with Nancy Augustine, 258-6424, if interested. Thanks!

Taize
(from Psalm 92: 1-4)
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name,
O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning
and your faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made us glad by your work;
at the work of your hands we sing for joy.

* HYMN #224
“Bless the Lord, My Soul and Being”
* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
(from “A Brief Statement of Faith”;
The Book of Confessions, 1999)
In a broken and fearful world
the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing,
to witness among all peoples to Christ
as Lord and Savior,
to unmask idolatries in Church and culture,
to hear the voices of peoples long silenced,
and to work with others for justice, freedom,
and peace.
In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit,
we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks
and to live holy and joyful lives,
even as we watch for God’s new heaven and
new earth, praying, “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Sovreign God, we confess
that we are not ready for your holy realm.
You guide us toward right paths,
but we refuse to follow where you lead.
You love, feed, and care for us,
but we fail to love and serve others.
Forgive us, merciful God,
so that we may return to your fold
and rejoice in your presence;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
the Lamb upon the throne.
(silent confession of sin . . . . )
Lord, hear our prayers. Amen.
