For Immediate Release: Sept 3, 2013 Award-Winning Radio Host Dave Beck to Join Classical KING FM 98.1 SEATTLE ---Classical KING FM announced today that the station is hiring KUOW arts reporter, host, and producer Dave Beck, as a daytime announcer and producer of local classical music programming on-air and online. Beck will go on air today Tues., Sept 3 in the 1-5pm weekday timeslot. His 30 years of experience as a local arts and cultural reporter, music host, producer and, interviewer will add depth to KING FM’s role as a resource and advocate for regional arts. He has deep roots in both radio and classical music, having started as a local arts reporter on KUOW, where he later became music director. Most recently Beck was an interviewer, reporter, and producer for KUOW Presents. He has won national and regional awards for his work. Beck’s work in the arts will also be heard in his role as a contributing reporter with KUOW. Beck understands the importance of an announcer’s presence in the local community. He often serves as a moderator, host, and pre-concert lecturer for scores of local concerts and events each year. In his role at KING FM, he will be out in the community even more. A musician himself, Beck plays cello with the Auburn Symphony and various chamber ensembles and has served on Simple Measures and the Seattle Youth Symphony boards of directors. Additionally, KING FM recently added award-winning Exploring Music host, Lisa Bergman, to the KING FM daily lineup from 10am to 1pm. This change allows Bergman to share her years of performance experience with more of our audience. Brad Eaton continues his Morning Show as always and Sean MacLean will continue his popular evening program with a shift in timing to 7pm to midnight, allowing him to expand his work as host of NW Focus and NW Focus LIVE.
