Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport no later the 12.00. Welcome by your driver and guide who will be with you for the
duration of your tour in the Holy Land. Group transfer to Jerusalem. Enjoy the panoramic view of ancient
Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, one of the most prominent sites in Jerusalem. Believed to be the place from
which God will begin to redeem the dead when the Messiah comes. Jews have always sought to be buried here.
At the foot of the mountain, adjacent to the Church of All Nations, stand the Gardens of Gethsemane in which
you will find the golden turreted Russian Orthodox Church of Maria Magdalene. Evening suggestion: visit the
Mamilla open air shopping center or Ben Yehuda Street
Overnight: Jerusalem Hotel
Today promises to be one of the highlights of our tour in Israel. We begin our exploration of ancient Jerusalem by
touring the Jewish Quarter. Visit the Western Wall, remnant of the foundation of the Second Temple from the
time of Jesus, and holiest site of Judaism. Walk along the Cardo, the main road of Roman/Byzantine Jerusalem,
beautifully restored for some modern-day shopping. Continue to the Christian Quarter and follow the Via
Dolorosa, the path Jesus walked to the crucifixion, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of
Calvary and Burial of Jesus. Today, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre serves as the headquarters of the Greek
Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, while control of the building is uniquely shared between several Christian
churches and secular entities in complicated arrangements essentially unchanged for centuries. Continue to the
Moslem Quarter of the Old City and enjoy time exploring the bazaar area. Evening suggestion: stroll around the
newly restored Old Train Station and enjoy the numerous coffee shops and restaurants.
Overnight: Jerusalem Hotel (B)
Drive through the Judean desert on your way to the lowest point on earth - the Dead Sea, located some 400
metres below sea level. Pass by the caves at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and talk about
their significance. Stop at the Dead Sea and enjoy a “swim” in the salty, mineral rich waters. Ascend the ancient
rock fortress of Masada by cable car, walk through palaces built by Herod the Great and see evidence of the
heroic struggle and last stand of the Jews against the Roman 10th Legion nearly 2000 years ago in 73 AD. Return
to Jerusalem.
Overnight: Jerusalem Hotel (B)
Today we drive north along the Jordan River Valley, passing by the modern city of Jericho, with a view also to the
Mount of Temptation, to the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum, hometown of St Peter and also Jesus’ headquarters
during His ministry in the Galilee and Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes. Continue up to
the Golan Heights for a visit to Gamla, a first century town which was destroyed by the Romans 2,000 years ago,
and see the synagogue which Jesus probably visited during his Ministry in the Galilee and Golan (ancient Bashan).
See the magnificent view of the Sea of Galilee from above and learn about the geopolitical issues in the region.
Overnight: Sea of Galilee (BD)
Drive west to the Mediterranean coast and Haifa, and enjoy the panoramic view of the port area and the world
famous Bahai Gardens. Continue though Druze villages stopping in Dalyat El Carmel to explore the local market.
Continue along the coastal road to Caesarea Maritima, King Herod’s masterpiece city, built to impress the
emperor in Rome as well as the local population. See the ancient theatre, hippodrome for horse and chariot
races, and Herod's private palace, as well as the Crusader city. Arrive in the metropolitan city of Tel Aviv. Evening
suggestion: Stroll along the sea front promenade.
Overnight: Tel Aviv (B)
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the open air craft fair at Nahalat Binyamin, or perhaps the Carmel Market or the
Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
Overnight: Tel Aviv (B)
Visit Rabin Square, site of the assassination of the former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Continue to the
picturesque Neve Tzedek area, the first neighborhood of Tel Aviv and the recently renovated old train station
area. Continue on to the ancient Crusader port city of Jaffa from where the prophet Jonah set sail, and where the
"cedars of Lebanon", sent by the Phoenicians, arrived to be used in King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem. Explore
the winding alleyways, picturesque artists’ quarter and port area. Evening suggestion: Visit the old port area of
Tel Aviv, with its shops, restaurants and cafes.
Overnight: Tel Aviv (B)
Complete check-out procedures and transfer to the airport (for flights departing between 12.00-13.00). (B)
