During professional development meetings (every third Thursday), teachers will review the use of ELA assessment guides, analyze and compare common assessment data, and share effective strategies for classroom implementation. Teachers will attend training on the implementation of Eureka. Analyze the comprehensive math data on all students who scored less than proficient on the 2014 state assessment; determine the RtI in which each of these students scheduled; and monitor every math RtI student at regular intervals with Scantron performance and Moby Max. Teachers will provide students more opportunities to engage in high level hands-on activities using Mathematical Practices to increase student achievement. SPED students at or below 2 grade levels in reading will attend daily Read 180 and System 44 classes which will consist of rotating through various centers. Students will be progress monitored at the end of each nine weeks based using the Read 180 Growth Report and Scantron/STAR data analysis. Special education teachers will use Read Live/ Success Maker three times per week to increase student comprehension and fluency. Teachers will use the RtI resources suggested by Dr. Riccomini. Math teachers will use the idea of “Sprints” from the Eureka math program to increase math fact fluency Inclusion: In each regular education math class with mainstreamed SPED students, one Special Education teacher will co-teach with the regular education teacher on a daily basis throughout the fall semester of 2014. Math iLEAP and Scantron data will be utilized to determine SPED student mastery. All teachers will be PBIS trained. PBIS expectations will be taught to students and revisited each 9 weeks. 8th grade ELA students will create videos for teaching the expectations. Procedures will be set in place and practiced. Procedures will be practiced at the end of each 9 weeks and as needed. PBIS committee will meet monthly to monitor and improve our discipline plan. Teachers will attend PBIS training and follow up meetings that will include behavior modification strategies, intervention strategies, and de-escalation techniques to improve relationships between teachers and students and focus on positive behavior.
