To: Faculty of Humanities - faculty members Re: Senate By-Election - Call for nominations for one faculty member from the Faculty of Humanities The UFV Senate is calling for nominations for one faculty member from the Faculty of Humanities to serve the remainder of a three-year term on Senate, to July 31, 2015. Nominations close Monday, September 30, 2013 at 4:00 pm. Senate is the academic governing body at UFV, which is responsible for policies concerning academic matters and advising the Board on policies of mutual interest. Senate business is conducted through its standing committees, whose terms of reference are posted on the Senate website at http://www.ufv.ca/senate/. The Senate meets once each month at 2:30 pm on Friday of the second week in the UFV meeting schedule. Meetings alternate between UFV campuses. Senate members are expected to represent the Senate on at least one Senate standing committee.
