Inaugural PRO Show Builds Foundation for the Future From the 13-15th of September the PRO Audio & Lighting Technology show made its debut alongside the widely-renowned BPM show, with over 4000 trade professionals – representing production companies, venues, installers and retailers – as well as 5000 consumers heading to the Birmingham NEC for three days of exploring exhibition stands, watching product demonstrations and soaking in seminars focussed on audio, lighting and video technology. After a landmark year and a positive response from trade professionals and exhibitors, PRO 2014 will act as a springboard for next year’s show, with organiser Marked Events having already confirmed that PRO will return – bigger and better – in September 2015. Having grown organically from the well-established BPM DJ & Electronic Music Production event, PRO is built on firm foundations. Its 2014 debut has set the standard and ensured that PRO will go on to become a calendar highlight for installers, rental houses, production companies and anyone who provides technical services to bars, clubs, concert venues and small to medium sized events. This year’s show saw key players like Bose, Ohm and Martin Audio showcasing their products in the PRO Audio Demo Space – a dedicated audio arena where professional sound systems can be demonstrated by manufacturers and heard at realistic levels by visiting trade professionals. A number of learning sessions provided educational content on audio engineering, computer sound design, LED lighting and more in the PRO Learning Space. Meanwhile, to facilitate networking, PRO’s media partner, Mondiale Publishing, hosted a comfortable and stylish central bar where visitors could gather to talk business and share experiences of the show over a drink or two. “I'm hugely optimistic about this show; it promises to be exactly what the UK needs in terms of an annual audio technology showcase,” said Ginny Goudy, Marketing Director for PRO exhibitors Nexo. “The NEC environment is a pleasure for the exhibitors and access is easy for visitors. The mix of demos, performances, lectures and panel sessions is lively and educational, and is a genuine attraction for visitors. As more elite brands join in the exhibition, the footfall will increase accordingly and the UK market will have a dynamic business event once more.” Michael Brooksbank, General Manager of Chauvet Europe, adds “The addition of PRO alongside BPM gave us the opportunity to exhibit our CHAUVET Professional products independently and this quieter, yet still vibrant, PRO show was also an ideal place to have meetings. We were pleasantly surprised by the number, and the calibre, of visitors this debut PRO show attracted. The BPM Arena, this year sponsored by CHAUVET Professional, was a hive of activity and a great place for us to showcase our latest lighting and video products. We had some fantastic feedback and we look forward to being a part of the shows again next year.” Having attracted over 9000 visitors between them, Marked Events will now look to increase the focus and vitality of the collocated PRO and BPM shows, ensuring that PRO takes its place as the must-attend event in the pro audio, lighting and video sector. With its foot now firmly in the door, PRO will return in 2015 with more confidence and a stronger identity, whilst still capitalising on its shared location and crucial synergy with BPM. www.visitPRO.co.uk For more information please contact the PRO PR Co-ordinator Sara Walker: Email sara@markedevents.co.uk Tel 01772 733 353
