Eligibility criteria
 Participant organization must be an Indian registered Colleges, Schools, Universities, Statutory bodies,
NGO’s, Government companies, Public Sector Undertaking, Public companies, Private companies and
other business entities having completed at least 2 years of operations in India as on August 31, 2015
 An Organization cannot participate on behalf of its sister units; parent organization or other organizations
under the parent organization
 The initiative taken to ensure Equal Opportunity for employment could be a product / service / project /
process / procedure / methodology etc. implemented in the organization
 Employees of Nipman, sponsors and partners of the Awards are not allowed to participate in the Awards
 The final eligibility of the Participant will be subject to the discretion and approval of Jury
 Participation in the Awards is subject to defined rules and regulations available on website

For the purpose of the Awards, the definition of ‘Disability’ will be as defined below:

Definition
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 defines disability as “physical or mental
impairment which has a substantial and long term adverse effect on the ability
to carry out normal day to day activities”
Instructions for completing this form
 All questions are mandatory else it may be disqualified from participation. Forms should be filled in
English language only

 Alternatively, applications can be submitted online, by clicking the “Apply Now” link on

 Participant can send multiple application forms for same category or separate categories provided it is
for a different initiative / innovation. If multiple entry forms are received for same initiative then only
one form will be considered and others will be disqualified.
 All questions are mandatory and must be answered. Incomplete forms may not be considered.
 Participants can upload up to three supporting documents (screenshots, photographs, references,
customer feedback letter etc.) in the “Attachments” section (Maximum size that can be uploaded is 10
MB (file type .jpeg, .pdf,.docx, .pptx are acceptable)
 Once complete, the Participant must agree to the Rules & regulations by checking the ‘Declaration’ on
the website. In case of hard copy the application form much be stamped with organization stamp and
signed by authorized signatory from the participant organization
 Please maintain one copy of the filled form with you for your records

Showcase the initiative as part of the case study which you are submitting for the Awards. The case study should be able to
demonstrate the objective of the initiative and measurable impact to the jury members. Impact should be supported with
evidence and reports. Detailed below are illustrations of initiatives and probable impact they may have. These are to be
used for reference purpose only. Institutions can participate with initiatives and impacts beyond the ones mentioned
below
Illustrations of Initiatives
The initiatives could be in the following areas








Equality in work environment : An environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and where the
talents and skills of different groups are valued
Equality in Learning : A workplace where Persons with Disability are trained and given the same orientation as their
peers
Equality in Expression : A workplace where there is equality in expression for Persons with Disability and they can
also voice their grievances and would get the same treatment as the rest of the workers
Equality in Participation: A workplace where Persons with Disability are allowed to take the lead without any
supervision if capable. They also are allowed to take up front facing roles
Equality in Economic sufficiency: The workplace should be paying Persons with Disability at par with the rest of the
employee without any discrimination. This is includes bonus’s
Equality in Removal of Barriers:
Equality in Training: A workplace giving Persons with Disability the same kind of training programs as the rest of
the employees get
Equality in Growth/ promotion: a workplace where Persons with Disability are equally given promotions/increments
as the rest of the employee

Terms Defined For The Purpose Of The Awards
Term
Skilled workforce
Definition
A skilled employee is one who is capable of working efficiently of
exercising considerable independent judgment and of discharging his
duties with responsibility. He must possess a thorough and
comprehensive knowledge of the trade, craft or industry in which he is
employed.
Examples:

11.Supervisor 12. Any other skilled employee who is capable of working
effectively of exercising considerable independent judgment and of discharge
his duties with responsibility.
Semi-skilled workforce
A semiskilled worker is one who does work generally of defined
routine nature wherein the major requirement is not so much of the
judgment, skill and but for proper discharge of duties assigned to him
or relatively narrow job and where important decisions made by
others. His work is thus limited to the performance of routine
operations of limited scope.
Examples:

Unskilled workforce
An unskilled employee is one who does operations that involve the
performance of simple duties, which require the experience of little of
no independent judgment or previous experience although familiarity
with the occupational environment is necessary. His work may thus
require in addition to physical exertion familiarity with variety of
articles or goods.
