Dear Parent(s),
Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Rob Ellis, I am 20 years old, and a
previous graduate of Stone Bridge High School. I will be coaching the Stone Bridge Boy’s
Varsity Tennis Team this year. Just to give you an insight in to my background, I played on this
very team while I attended Stone Bridge. I played 1st and 2nd singles as well as 1st doubles, and
ended my senior year as the captain of the team. Over my tennis career at Stone Bridge, I
managed to compete in the liberty district tournament twice. After graduating, I proceeded to
attend Virginia Tech where I continued to play tennis on a regular basis recreationally. Along
with tennis, I joined the Virginia Tech club rowing team to try something new. My boat and I
rowed to a few gold medals at regattas all up and down the east coast. After a few semesters at
Virginia Tech, I returned home to Ashburn for a little break, and now I find myself coaching this
amazing group of young men. I am extremely excited to work with the kids, along with you, this
season, and look forward to the challenges that come along with it.
Along with giving you some insight in to my background, I am writing to remind you
there is a parent meeting tomorrow, March 2nd, at 7:00 P.M. at Stone Bridge High School. I
would like to personally invite and encourage the parents of all current team members or anyone
with an interest to meet Stone Bridge’s new coach to attend the meeting. It will provide an
opportunity for the parents to get to know me and ask questions about the program. We will go
over some important information pertaining to the season as well as some needed paperwork.
Further, I want to encourage any parent who has a question or concern about their child or the
program to approach me with it at any time. I really look forward to working with all of you to
help make a competitive but, above all, enjoyable program here at Stone Bridge.
