CHRISTINGLE SERVICE
CHRISTINGLE:Next Sunday - 20th December at 3.00pm.

The Christingle Youth Orchestra.

Presentation and Readings 11.30-1.00pm,
Orchestra 1.00-200pm.

PENITENTIAL SERVICE
There is a Penitential Service this Friday at 7.30pm. Once again, I will have the
assistance of Fr Ken Bowen of Woburn Sands to hear confessions.
CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES
Thursday, December 24th
Christmas Eve Children’s Mass at 6 o’clock
Carols from 10.00pm, followed by
Christmas Vigil Mass at 10.30pm.
Friday, December 25th
Christmas Dawn Mass at 9.00am
Christmas Day Children’s Mass at 10.30am.
Sunday, December 27th:
Masses at 9.00am, 10.30am and 6.00pm
CHRISTMAS LISTS
The list for readers and eucharistic ministers to help at the Christmas Masses is in
the Sacristy. Please be a goody-two-shoes: come in and sign up this weekend!
NO BOXING DAY EVENING MASS
Please note there will be no 6.00pm evening Mass on Saturday 26th December.
Instead, there will be 6.00pm Mass on Sunday 27th in addition to the usual morning
Masses.
MINCE PIES AND MULLED WINE
Next weekend, the Justice and Peace team will be providing mince pies and mulled
wine after all the Masses, in aid of the Medical Missionaries of Mary.
SACRED HEART SINGERS
Sacred Heart Singers meet again this Monday, at 7.30pm, in church.
BIBLE STUDY GROUP
There will be a meeting of the Bible study group, this Wednesday, 16 th December at
3.30pm in the Parish Hall. Everyone welcome.
CONFIRMATION 2016
The next Confirmation course will start in January and extend over much of the year,
with meetings about once a month. Normally we would run the courses every two
years, but we are now inviting children who are currently in School Years 6, 7 and 8
to take part, to be confirmed in 2016. The forms are available at the back – please
complete and return as soon as possible to Fr John or Theresa.
ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASSES
I plan to start classes for adults soon. If you are interested in becoming a Catholic, or
you are Catholic but not yet confirmed, please speak to me or Deacon Tony.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Thursday December 17th at 7:30pm
Our resident band, the Leighton-Linslade Concert Band (LLCB), invite you to a joint
concert with The Linsdale Singers, in the Parish Hall. The programme will include
Christmas music as well as film themes and other popular pieces. Refreshments,
including mulled wine and mince pies, will be available. Admission is free. All
proceeds will go towards Leighton Buzzard’s Homeless at Christmas and Sacred
Heart Church.
FILM NIGHT
The Justice and Peace team would like to thank all those who attended our latest
film night "Roses in December". A collection totalling £100 was taken for Aid to the
Church in Need. Keep an eye out in the bulletin in January for details of our next film
night.
