Activities focus on building Agility, Balance and Coordination skills (The ABC’s), while developing the on-court skills needed to serve, rally, and score. Prior to graduating to the next stage of the program, these 8 & Under players will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic technique and maintain that technique during rallies with peers. Students will get physics on their side as they build a simple machine - Lego Amusement Park - and program each build to complete a variety of tasks. From operating a construction crane to spinning a Ferris Wheel, students will see how simple machines allow us to produce more force than we ever could with our bare hands. Students will use Multimedia Fusion 2 to create their own video game. A platform game is a side-scrolling, Mario-type game where students program characters and a two-dimensional obstacle course. They attempt to avoid or overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. At the end of the class, students take home a copy of the game they create. The group will perform at the March Madness basketball game halftime show. KidzKeys uses color and tons of FUN to introduce students in K-2nd grade to the joy of playing the piano.
