Content (Syllabus outline):
1.
Basics of business idea implementation on the market and specifics related to small and medium-sized enterprises.
2.
The importance of design and design thinking in finding solutions and designing new products
/services/business models or other entities in organizations
3.
Methods and techniques of creative thinking to find solutions to business challenges
4.
Basics of ethnographic research and observation methods
5.
The role and importance of an interdisciplinary approach and teamwork in solving problems, designing and implementing entrepreneurial ideas
6.
Fundamentals of (rapid) prototyping
7.
Business modeling, designing business models for small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurial solutions
8.
Commercialization and implementation of new products and services on the market
9.
The use of ICT tools in the processes of innovation and as support for user involvement in the innovation process
10.
User-driven innovation and open innovation
Objectives and competences:
Students will develop basic competences:
ability to analyze, synthesize and predict solutions and consequences of phenomena in the derivation of entrepreneurial ideas
ability to apply knowledge in the field of entrepreneurial problem solving and basic design considerations
collegiality of staff, teamwork and acceptance of and compliance with the criticisms and comments of people of different profiles and skills
communication and presentation skills,
autonomy in professional work and in making business decisions
ability to work and learn in areas that are new and very different
ability to work and accept unconventional ideas and solutions.
Students will develop subject-specific competences:
ability to solve practical business problems with useful scientific methods and procedures, understanding and better use of creative and innovative potential, development of techniques for efficiently identifying and solving problems, with emphasis on the skill of generating business ideas and solutions,
the ability to implement creative and innovative thinking in business,
ability of inventive and innovative thinking in work on specific models or prototypes of products,
ability to put oneself in the role of users and understand their needs,
coherent management of the knowledge base, acquired mainly in other subjects from different fields and its application in the business world,
development of skills and knowledge to use in their own or within a team project, ability to work with and use of modern ICT tools.

studied the basic elements of implementation the business ideas on the market and specificities linked to small and medium-sized enterprises
be able to develop a business model for a particular business solution
be able to adequately present their business solutions to external audience
by use of rapid prototyping be able to visualize
their business solution
able to check the user perspective of each business solutions or ideas
check the business, human and technical aspects of each solution
be able to implement the key steps of design thinking/ innovation process to a concrete challenge
be able to verify the marketing potential of individual solutions / ideas and create the milestones of its marketing mix
