Families can call 3912402 to sign up for an appointment. SCHOLARSHIPS SCHOLARSHIPS, INC The application for Scholarships, Inc. is now LIVE online at http://scholarshipsinc.org. Seniors complete one application and are then considered for all Scholarship Inc. scholarships they are eligible for. Last year, of the 48 seniors from Preble who applied and demonstrated financial need for college, 47 of them received a scholarship from this organization, giving them a total of $83,250 for their college pursuits at either a technical HOURS: 7:15 - 3:15 or four-year college!! Seniors who have a 2.75 GPA or higher and will have a gap between what they need to pay for college expenses and the funds they have available to them should consider applying online. The deadline is midnight on April 10th, 2014 – no exceptions! From the Scholarships, Inc. home page, seniors should click on “2014 Scholarship Applications Available Here” to begin the application process. Then, they will need to click on "Sign Up" to create an account. It is important students submit a personal email address that is solely their own – not a family email. If there is any evidence the student was not the person who completed the application, the application will be disqualified. If there are any questions during the application process, all questions should be directed to Jennifer at Scholarships, Inc. Her phone number is 920-857-9088. Her email is jallen@scholarshipsinc.org. Jennifer will only accept questions from students, not parents or guardians, to ensure the student takes ownership in the process and learns advocacy skills. All seniors completing a Scholarships, Inc. application will be required to upload a Student Aid Report (SAR) to the online application after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. We encourage families to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible once 2013 tax returns are filed to determine eligibility for state and federal student aid. Seniors who apply to Scholarships, Inc. will be asked to enter email addresses for their recommenders. PLEASE make sure these emails are accurate before submitting, or the recommender will not receive (Scholarships, Inc. Continued) notification. As a reminder, students need to read the directions carefully with this application, because if everything is not submitted completely and successfully by April 10th, their application will be disqualified. Student applicants are also responsible for checking online to ensure all of their recommenders have submitted their information prior to the due date. Follow all scholarship deadlines and provide 7-10 school days for the Student Services Office to process these applications if a high school transcript is needed. IMPORTANT***Scholarship Scams Applying for scholarships should be a free process. Never pay to find a scholarship and never pay a scholarship provider to apply. WISCONSIN COVENANT Students must submit their completed signed confirmation form to the Higher Educational Aids Board on or by April 1st, 2013. This program will be conducted all day and parents are welcome to attend. Juniors will be coming down with their social studies class to hear three different representatives talk about the different post-secondary educational options after high school. There will be a representative from NWTC, UW-Green Bay, and St. Norbert to discuss the characteristics of each choice. My Education, My Way will help juniors prepare for their Individualized Planning Conferences (IPC’s) that will be held starting February 24th. JUNIOR/PARENT/COUNSELOR MEETINGS In February, all parents and guardians of juniors will be invited to participate in an Individual Planning Conference or IPC. Parents and guardians of juniors will meet with their guidance counselors to review transcripts and discuss post high school plans. These conferences will assist parents and their children to prepare for their futures whether they are going into the world of work, military, technical, or four-year colleges. This will be a great opportunity for parents and juniors to start planning for their senior year and beyond. YOUTH OPTIONS: TAKING UW-GREEN BAY, ST.
