RIGGINS ELEMENTARY NEWS October 2015 Riggins Elementary Student body held elections for the 2015-2016 school year. Everyone who ran for office gave their speech before the student body on Wednesday, September 30th at the Student of the Month Assembly. The student body voted and results are: Logan Calvin – President, Raney Walters- Vice President, Cassie Damon- Secretary and Tyrus Swift as Sargent of Arms. The Student Aides working at the elementary school are doing a good job and we appreciate their help in the classrooms. Thursday- Fifth Grade Preschool Daily please check schedule with teacher for your student’s specific day. Help us keep our library awesome by caring for the books the students borrow and return them on time so others can read them. If you see something Awesome please write it down on a sticky note and put it on the bulletin board. We will read the shout outs during the morning news. RIGGINS ELEMENTARY NEWS October 2015 The Back Pack Program Red Ribbon Week Monday: “Wake up Drug Free” It’s Pajama Day! Kids can wear pajamas to school (please follow normal dress code no spaghetti straps.) Wear shoes to school and bring your slippers for class. Tuesday: “Drugs are Scary, Pumpkins are Not” I’m ready to say no to drugs and yes to a Pumpkins Scramble Wear your Savage colors or all red. Ice Cream will be handed out to students at lunch who have on Savage colors or red. Pumpkin Scramble in the afternoon. Wednesday: “Sock it to Drugs with your Hat On” Wear crazy socks and silly hats to show you are drug free. Thursday:”Put down Drugs and Pick up a Book” Dress like your favorite book character. (Pete the cat, Fancy Nancy, harry Potter, Fly Guy, Curious George etc…) We will be partnering with the Idaho Food Bank to bring this program to our students. If interested please contact the office. Coat Drive Michelle Simpson has organized a coat drive for our area and she will be bringing the coats to the elementary school for those interested. More information to follow. Weather Change & Daylight Savings Ends Please be aware as the daylight savings ends Nov. 1st. Fall is a time of chilly mornings and warm afternoon. Please dress your students accordingly for the weather. Have a great school year get involved and be the change you would like to see in the world.
