The role of teacher is very important for shaping the future of students. When teacher uses English language for teaching he /she must be careful about the pronunciation. If teacher mispronounce of certain words then it will create misunderstanding among the students. Students also imitate the same wrong pronunciation. The most difficult problem facing non-native teacher is pronunciation. In order to achieve fluency many teacher overlook to the pronunciation. Many teachers have studied grammar for many years but they are unable to pronounce the sounds of words properly .If teacher wrongly pronounce the words, it will keep him away from effective teaching as well as communication. Key Words: - International language, pronunciation, non-native Teacher, sound of words Introduction:The pronunciation includes features such as stress, rhythm, sound and intonation. The pronunciation is also one of the major part of English language .There is distinction of vowel and consonant between native language and English. The most of teacher while teaching in the classroom uses bilingual language .A mix use of two or more language context will interfere the phonological system of all these languages. The native speaker of Marathi language often tend to substitute plosive aspirates for English fricatives .They also substitute /F/ with /ph/,/Q/with /th/,/v/with /wh/ and z with /dzh/. There is another difference between Marathi language and English, when native speaker of Marathi pronounce a sound /3/like in measure , pleasure and this happen because of /3/ does not occur in Marathi. The most of native Marathi speaker of English commit mistakes when they use past tense .The past tense /ed/ after /d/ is pronounced /ed/ and not /Id/. The /r/sound is use at the end of word in Marathi language but it is not uttered in RP e.g. Doctor. Many researches have been done in this topic. Therefore we find there is much scope of research to study pronunciation among the teacher working at different level. The following study of pronunciation among the teacher working at Soniya Gandhi Polytechnic, Shrigonda and Kaushalaya Devi Nagawade English Medium School, Shrigonda.This will enable us to understand the problem and we will come to the conclusion .Therefore there is a scope and need to work on pronunciation. Research Elaboration:For this research fifteen words are used for pronunciation. Most of these words selected for pronunciation are used in daily usage.The five teachers selected from both Soniya Gandhi Polytechnic, and Kaushalaya Devi Nagawade English Medium School, Shrigonda.The scheduled interview method used for collecting the data of pronunciation. The following words are used for pronunciation. There was variation of pronunciation among teachers .The Soniya Gandhi Polytechnic, teachers correct pronunciations of words are 32% and incorrect pronunciations of words 68%.The Kaushalaya Devi Nagawade English Medium School, teachers correct pronunciations of words are 46.67% and incorrect pronunciations of words 53.34%. According to assumed parameter both selected institutes are average in correct pronunciation .It’s shows that there is a lot of scope in this area .There is a need of improvement of pronunciation among the working teacher in such type of institute.
