$750 awarded from Keep Virginia Beautiful to be used for recycling containers at n’Telos Pavilion to
promote recycling at this entertainment venue.
Cigarette Litter Prevention Grant from askHRgreen/KAB. Keep Portsmouth Beautiful was given 5
smokers’ outposts, 250 personal ashtrays and educational material to be used at n’Telos Pavilion to bring
awareness to patrons that cigarette butts are litter and should be disposed of properly.
Award
The City of Portsmouth received the Outstanding Government Agency Award for 2015 for its
recycling program from the Virginia Recycling Association. The award was presented at the
VRA annual conference in May.
