Business overview The Corporate Actions department covers Reorg, Dividends and Interest, GICs and Proxy. Corporate Actions is also known as Entitlements or Asset Servicing. Reorg is responsible for ensuring all corporate action events are balanced and processed to client accounts accurately and on a timely basis, as well as handling any IB inquiries. GIC’s maturities and GIC early redemptions are processed on behalf of clients for their brokerage accounts. Proxy covers general questions regarding electronic and physical distribution of Proxy material for private companies. Position Description Reporting to the Director, Operations this role involves servicing clients and processing. The processing includes dividends/interest and reorg. The role sits between the two departments (Dividends/Reorg) and will move back and forth as required. Key Accountabilities: Ensure accurate preparation and processing of Corporate Actions transactions Process complex/high risk transactions that require many touch points in multiple systems Research and adjust any discrepancies. Service Clients as a direct point of contact Education, Experience and Licenses 7 or more years of experience in securities/brokerage industry, including a minimum of 5 years in Corporate Actions Extensive knowledge of financial transaction processing, settlements and corporate actions/income concepts and techniques and reconciliation methodology and standards Knowledge and experience with Dataphile is an asset Completion or enrolment in Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) course advantageous Minimum of 2 year post-secondary program completed Skills and Knowledge Sound and proven customer service skills Expertise in accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical thinking Flexible and adaptable Able to manage multiple priorities Extensive experience in problem resolution Interested applicants are required to apply on-line at: www.fidelity.ca/careers Corporate Actions and Income Specialist
