16th September 2015 YOKOHAMA India Makes Donation to Indian Red Cross for Nepal Earthquake Relief Activities Tokyo‒ The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced today that its Indian subsidiary, Yokohama India Pvt. Ltd. (YIN), has made a total donation of INR 500.000 to the Indian Red Cross Society to support its efforts in areas stricken by the massive earthquake that hit Nepal in April this year. The donation included INR 158.704 from YIN employees and another INR 341.296 from the company. The donation was presented by YIN President Satoshi Fujitsu on 5th September to Indian Red Cross Deputy Secretary Mr. P.C. Partihari, who promised that he would make sure the funds are used responsibly to replenish needed supplies in areas of Nepal stricken by the April earthquake. The 7.8-magnitude quake with an epicentre about 80km northwest of Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu struck on 25th April, causing extensive damage in Nepal and surrounding countries. In addition to the destruction of many families’ homes, the quake took the lives of close to 9,000 people as of 20th August, according to UNICEF.
