19th May Royal Geographical Society
Ifield Community College’s choir and drummers will be the only musicians
performing for delegates at a major international conference about the Chagos
Islands. Hosted by Ben Fogle and author Phillippa Gregory, the day at the Royal
Geographical Society in London welcomes politicians, scientists,
environmentalists and anthroplologists from around the world.
Ifield’s Chagossian drumming group will play an Indian Ocean medley whilst the
choir will sing a variety of songs including Calling my Children Home which is a
favourite with Chagos Support Association members.
