Making the most of your Clubmark accreditation
By achieving Clubmark accreditation clubs demonstrate that they provide a safe,
accessible and enjoyable experience for their members. Once they have Clubmark, clubs
need to be proactive to ensure they get the maximum benefits out of their
accreditation.
Here are a few ideas your club may want to consider:
Use the logos
Once you have achieved accreditation your club has access and
permission to use the Clubmark logo. This is a sign of high quality club
and therefore should be used on all your club's literature and promotional
material from websites to newsletters, membership forms to handbooks.
Publicise your achievement
Clubmark accreditation is an achievement your club should be very proud
of. Make sure people are aware of your success by publicising this in the
local press and within your local community. As it is a sign of a high
quality sports club it could help attract new members and supporters.
Get on the map!
Once you are accredited your club will automatically be included on the
Clubmark clubfinder. This will help promote your club and attract new
members but they may also be other club databases or club directories
you should be included on. For example, many county sports
partnerships, national governing bodies and local councils have their own
so make sure you are included and your details are up to date.
Get the whole club involved
Although it helps to have one person leading on the organisation of your
Clubmark accreditation it is important that the whole club is involved.
Make sure the committee and club members are aware of what has been
achieved and ensure they are part of the development planning that is a
key part of the accreditation. Include it in your Club welcome pack.
Working together the Club will achieve more.
Build partnerships
Achieving accreditation opens up the opportunity to build beneficial
partnerships within your local community. Partners are always looking for
well run, high quality clubs and you are now able to demonstrate that you

fit these criteria via your Clubmark accreditation. Emphasise this when
you are talking to local schools, youth and uniformed groups or when
setting up coaching and/or promoting to local businesses and especially
when you are looking for new sponsors and supporters.
Support funding bids
Being proactive your club may be able to use your accreditation to open
avenues to funding streams. Some funding providers particularly look to
support high quality, accredited clubs so research where these
opportunities are available. Wherever you are looking for funding support
from Clubmark can be used as supporting evidence as it proves that your
club provides a safe, accessible and enjoyable experience for its members
and is committed to development and increasing participation.
