Continuous Professional Development Courses 2015- 2016
FIE Standard
IE Standard is a series of structured paper-and-pencil exercises that gradually
increase in levels of difficulty and abstraction. The materials are organized into
workbooks called “instruments” and each instrument focuses on a specific cognitive
area such as analytic perception, comparison, classification, orientation in space and
time, and so on. They may include verbal, mathematical, logical and even emotional
skills, depending upon the needs of the learner. Learners are guided through the
tasks by a mediator who helps them develop strategies for problem solving and
analytic thinking that they can then carry on into the rest of their lives.
IE Standard can be used in a classroom or workplace setting, with small groups of
targeted learners, and as a one-to-one therapeutic intervention.
IE Standard consists of 14 instruments in all.
IE training is offered in two formats:


Divided into two parts: IE-1 and IE-2
Divided into three parts: IE-1 [of 3], IE-2 [of 3], IE-3 [of 3].
IE LEVEL 1(of 3)Course Syllabus:
This course is designed for those working with students age approximately 9 years up in mainstream
or special education.






Introduction to the theory of mediated learning experience;
Analysis of developed and deficient cognitive functions in regular and special
needs populations;
Criteria and principles of mediation;
Goal and sub-goals of the clinical and educational application of the IE
program;
IE Lesson planning and preparation of “bridging” exercises;
Comprehensive instruction in the use of the following 4 IE instruments:
Organization of Dots; Comparisons; Analytic Perception; Orientation in Space
I.
Learning materials:
Course participants will receive a set of 4 IE instruments, a booklet of Teaching
Diagrams and additional handouts for the course.
Certification:
Course participants will be awarded a Certificate of Instrumental Enrichment
Mediator Level 1 (of 3) upon successful completion of the entire course
requirements. The certificate is valid for four years from its issue date and is
renewed subject to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conditions.
Course Fee:
£620.00; inclusive of International Registration and Certification by the
Feuerstein Institute and all learning materials.
Course dates:
October 20th – 22nd and November 18th – 20th 2015 .

IE LEVEL 2 (of 3)
This course is open to practitioners who have trained in Level 1
instruments. Target populations are adolescents in mainstream
education and adults; students from disadvantaged backgrounds
and gifted underachievers.
Course Syllabus:






Applied aspects of MLE with diverse populations of students (regular,
underachieving, minority, gifted, etc.);
Small group practice in IE lesson planning;
Principles and techniques of “bridging” the cognitive principles to the middle
and high-school curriculum;
Cognitive analysis of curricular lessons;
Simulation of IE classroom instruction;
Comprehensive instruction in the material and teaching methods of second
level IE instruments: Illustrations; Family Relations; Temporal Relations;
Categorisation; Instructions .
Learning Materials:
Course participants will receive a set of 5 IE-2 (of 3) instruments, Teaching
diagrams and handouts for the course.
Certification:
Course participants will be awarded a Certificate of Instrumental Enrichment
Mediator Level 2 upon successful completion of the entire course requirements. The
certificate is valid for four years from its issue date and is renewed subject to the
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conditions.
Course Fee:
£620.00, inclusive of International Registration and Certification by the
Feuerstein Institute and all learning materials.
Course dates:
January 18th - 20th and 25th – 27th 2016.

IE Level 2 and 3 (combined)
This course is open to practitioners who have trained in Level 1
instruments. Target populations are adolescents in mainstream
education and adults; students from disadvantaged backgrounds
and gifted underachievers. This combined course comp0letes the full
IE Standard Training Programme.
Course Syllabus:







Syllogisms; Transitive Relations; and Representational Stencil Design.
Learning Materials:
Course participants will receive a set of 10 (IE-2 and 3) instruments, Teaching
diagrams and handouts for the course.
Certification:
Course participants will be awarded a Certificate of Instrumental Enrichment
Mediator Level 2 and 3, upon successful completion of the entire course
requirements. The certificate is valid for four years from its issue date and is
renewed subject to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conditions.
Course Fee:
£1,100.00 for the combined course, inclusive of International Registration
and Certification by the Feuerstein Institute and all learning materials.
