DEPI agencies to which the Victorian Government’s DataVic Access Policy applies The Victorian government “expects all Victorian public sector agencies” to adopt the VicData Access policy. The policy specifically applies to all “public bodies” that provide an annual report to Parliament under the Financial Management Act (FMA) and “controlled entities” that report in the Annual Financial Report for the State of Victoria (AFR). The policy’s Intent and Principles (page 3) state that it “operates in conjunction with the whole of Victorian Government Intellectual Property Policy and, like the Intellectual Property policy, applies to all departments and public bodies (agencies)”. The policy’s Standards and Guidelines (1.7) state that: “the Government expects all Victorian public sector agencies to adopt the DataVic Access policy and supporting Standards and Guidelines. This includes departments and agencies that report in the Annual Financial Report for the State of Victoria (AFR)” – i.e. “controlled entities” listed in note 41 of the AFR.
