Surveys Implementation of Afghanistan Living Condition Survey (ALCS) year 1391-1392 and its report dissemination; Implementation of Women & Men participation in decision making survey year 1393 and its report dissemination; Finalization of Socio-Economic survey report of Ghor and Daikondi provinces; Implementation of Users Satisfaction survey year 1393 and its report dissemination; Implementation of Economic Enterprises screening survey and its report dissemination; Implementation of Socio-Demographic and Economic (SDES) survey of Kapisa and Parwan provinces and its report preparation and Completion of brief report of Socio-Demographic and Economic survey of Kabul province and its dissemination. 2. Demography Preparation of Population Estimation of year 1393 and its results dissemination. 3. Organizational and physical Infrastructure Amended Statistical Law; Completed Central Data processing building; Completed Administrative buildings for Badakhshan, Maidan Wardak and Kapisa provinces; Prepared Quarterly Statistical Publication for the first time and initiated quarterly publication of GDP and CPI; Strengthened National Accounts system; Revision of entire statistical questionnaires in accordance with the needs; Preparation of DATA policy; Revision of Organizational structure and related standards in order to establish better capabilities; Established a joint commission among CSO, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade, Central Bank and Chamber of Commerce & Industry in order to establish coordination and to precise the trade data; Established a joint commission among CSO, Ministry of Finance and Da Afghanistan Bank in order to coordinate data related to National Accounts; Started work to finalize Statistical Standards and Classifications; Establishment of close cooperation through number of meetings with Ministries, organizations and private sector in order to submit timely and precise data and to establish statistical cells in those ministries and organization which doesn’t has these cells; Equipped library with advance standards; Procured GPS, Tablets and printing machines for survey implementation; Prepared HR Policy, Strategic Plans and methodical guidelines of Human Resources and Prepared human database and digitalized the attendance system. 4. Capacity Building Trained two teams of report writing; Conducted two meetings with Ministries, Organizations and employees of provincial statistical offices in relation to questionnaires filling out procedure; Introduction of (35) employees of this organization to higher educational institute in order to achieve higher studies in statistics and sending of (51) employees to fellowship and scholarship programs outside the country and Conducted number of capacity building workshops (professional, management, financial, procurement, language and computer courses) for (466) employees of this organization. 5. Publication Dissemination of Statistical yearbook, trade yearbook, price yearbook, trade & price quarterly publication, three year’s statistical indicators, quarterly statistical publication, pocket size publication and other publications; Report dissemination of Women & Men participation in decision-making survey of year 1391-1392; Report dissemination of Socio-Demographic and Economic Survey of Ghor, Daikondi and Kabul provinces; Report dissemination of Users Satisfaction Survey and Report dissemination of Population estimation of year 1393. 6. Programs & Plans of Year 1394 Extension and improvement of collection and analysis of statistical data related to external trade, agriculture, health, education, manpower, energy, industry, mine, transport, telecommunication, buildings, roads, population, price and development projects; Digitalizing entire processes of data collection and processing and its entry in central database for the utilization of users; Strengthening electronic systems of this organization; Conducting of general population census on country level in case of financial resources and security availability; Equipping and strengthening publication systems and website of this organization; Capacity building of central and provincial offices; Conducting of Socio-Demographic and Economic survey in each province of the country; Conducting of Integrated Business Establishment Survey (IBES) in the country; Establishment of central statistical database; Conducting of Demographic & Health survey on country with the financial support of USAID; Completion of Afghanistan Living Condition Survey (ALCS) for years 2014-2015 and starting of such survey for years 2015-2016 for the first time; Conducting of Users Satisfaction Survey and survey reports; Improvement of National Accounts; Publication of quarterly GDP for the first time; Starting of construction work of Statistical Research & Training Centre in case of financial resource; Preparation of provincial GDP for the first time; Extension of CPI to entire provinces of the country and Continuation of work on statistical standards and classifications. 7. Challenges and Problems Security problems; Lack of timely submission of data; Lack of enough professional staff and Lack financial resources for the construction of Statistical Research and Training Centre. 8. Suggested solution Sending employees of this organization in order to achieve higher studies outside the country through Ministry of Higher Education (from government fund); Revision of entire organizational structure in order to enhance the professional capacity of employees; Improvement of cooperation and coordination of Ministries, Organizations and private sector with Central Statistics Organization in the implementation of surveys and submission of timely and precise data; Development of a specific policy on country level in relation to better utilize official statistical data and Finding required financial resources for the construction of Statistical Research & Training centre.
