Activity context
These digital resources are designed for languages teachers to use with Interactive Whiteboards. This
activity has been designed to consolidate the language in the topic area of transport.

Activity
Transport: vocabulary
To teach vocabulary related to transport.
Teacher or students click on the vocabulary cards. When
clicked, the cards will flip over and show the written word.
Teachers can use this as a tool to teach vocabulary items.
The Notebook file can be edited to include many vocabulary
items and images.

Transport: flashing vocabulary
To consolidate vocabulary related to transport.
Students click on the flashing pictures. When they click, the
pictures will stop flashing, and three words will appear at the
bottom of the screen. Students should click on the correct word
to match the picture.
Transport: à / en
To consolidate grammar related to transport.
Teachers can use this page as a tool to help explain the
grammar required to talk about what transport you use.
Transport: à / en vortex
To consolidate grammar related to transport.
Students drag the pictures from the bottom of the screen into
the correct vortex. If the word is correct, it will disappear into
the vortex. If it is incorrect it will bounce back off.
Transport: listening
To consolidate grammar and vocabulary related to talking
about how you get to different places.
The teacher clicks on the numbers to hear the listening
activities. Students should listen to the text, then click on the
arrows and extend them out to the correct places.

Transport: verb conjugation Aller - to go
To consolidate verb conjugation for the verb 'aller' - 'to go'.
Students drag the pronouns to the correct conjugations of the
verb.
Transport: How do you go to school?
To consolidate grammar used to talk about how you go to
school.
This page has a map with different types of transport on the
page. The teacher uses the magic pen to draw around a type
of transport to highlight that section of the page, to give
students practice in building sentences.
Transport: How do you go to...?
To consolidate grammar used to talk about how you go to
different places.
Students or teacher click on the two dice. The first die has
types of places. The second die has types of transport.
The dice can be used as starting points for practice in building
sentences.

provides oral feedback to the class and to individual students.
Assessment criteria:
The student:

listens actively to aid comprehension

contributes to the identification and labelling of the vocabulary

demonstrates comprehension, e.g. by matching words to pictures

develops writing skills in context, e.g. matching words with pictures and labelling objects.
The Notebook files for each student can form part of your assessment to inform your teaching and capture
"point in time" learning.
