First LEAF Interior Design Awards 2013 - Winners announced!
Friday 18 th October 2013, Palace Hotel, Berlin
The 1st Annual LEAF Interior Design Awards with headline sponsors Interface and Quarella proved to be a huge
success attracting a whole host of recognisable faces from the architectural and design community. This
spectacular evening took place in the wonderful surroundings of the Palace Hotel, Berlin, Germany presented by
Vanessa Brady, chair of the Society of British Interior Designers.
“Setting standards in interior design, it raises the bar for practitioners and manufacturers, and it rightly celebrates
and commends those who perform above the norm. The Leaf Interior Design Award measures the best of
sustainable design from around the world. This award creates an industry legacy and I am honoured to once

INNOCAD in cooperation with ANASTASIA SU and KMKG Studio won two prizes at Leaf Interior Design Awards
2013.
After being shortlisted with two projects, HQ Microsoft Vienna - “commcercial building of the year” and Rolling
Stones - “public building of the year”, the winning projects were announced at the awards night in Berlin, October
18th.
The project ROLLING STONES, conversion and redevelopment of the ‘Kanonenhalle’ in Graz / Austria and its
interdisciplinary concept was awarded in the category “public building of the year”. Furthermore the project was
chosen as the overall winner at this year’s Leaf Interior Design Awards.
The comment of the jury:
‘The continuation of the cobblestone (‘Murnockerln’) theme throughout the project makes an important link to the
heritage of the building. The design has been sensitively executed: the space has been modernised and made
accessible to the public, without compromising the existing architecture.’
The task of creating a new information centre for Graz Tourismus and, in synergy with this, an attractive entrance
to the Provincial Armoury called for an approach transcending architecture alone. The result is a consistent
corporate identity combining architecture, media and merchandising aspects.
The aim to establish the Cannon Hall as a platform for Graz as a City of Design was absolutely achieved and
boosts its international position successfully.
The cooperation between the product and fashion designer ANASTASIA SU and Martin Lesjak from INNOCAD
for the design of the new “Kanonenhalle” formed the solid basement for the foundation of the design label – 13&9
Design, in January 2013.
The 2013 shortlist honoured a real variety of international buildings and their use of interior space. The winners of
