The Wienerberger Sustainable Building Academy is an international educational program that was brought to life in conjunction with University of Technology Graz, Leibniz University Hannover, Technical University of Warsaw and Vienna University of Economics and Business. The Wienerberger Sustainable Building Academy program started in Austria, Germany, Poland and Belgium beginning in September 2013. For their participation in the program, students will receive 5 ECTS points which will be accounted for by the respective universities. Twelve students from Austrian, German and Polish Universities have been selected for the first course in the winter semester 2013/14. The program links scientific theory learned in university with practical experience, and offers the candidates the possibility to further develop their knowledge through problem solving. The first course of WISBA has started on September 24th 2013 with a four-day Start Conference in Graz, Austria, which took place in cooperation with the Sustainable Building Conference 2013. After that, the students meet four times for two days each at workshops in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Poland under the direction of the national committees to learn about the different national regulations and integrate national circumstances into their project work.
