About Impact Investing Australia:
Impact Investing Australia is a new not-for-profit organisation established to develop the market for
impact investing in Australia and deliver better outcomes for society.
Impact Investing Australia has a clear focus on enabling more participants to enter the market, and
achieving more investments. Established in 2014 in response to an industry-identified need, it is the
first organisation of its kind in Australia.
About the position:
We are seeking a Communications Officer to assist the Director of Strategic Communications and
Engagement with Impact Investing Australia’s communications, education and engagement work to
achieve its goals of developing the market for impact investing in and from Australia.
The Communications Officer is focused on writing and producing content for digital platforms including
the Impact Investing Australia website, e-newsletters and social media. They are also responsible for
helping build an image database for the organisation.
This role will suit a passionate communicator who is excited by the opportunities that impact investing
brings to help tackle our social and environmental challenges, and who wants to work alongside some of
Australia’s leading impact investment practitioners and pioneers.
Key responsibilities:
 Research, write and produce content for the Impact Investing Australia website and e-newsletters
including preparation of case studies, profiles, regular News and Events updates and other pages as
needed.




Coordinate and build Impact Investing Australia’s presence on social platforms with a focus on
Twitter.
Source new images for use in online and offline platforms and help to build an image database for
the organisation.
Ensure all digital content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone, and optimised
for search and user experience.
Assist with other communications functions as required.
Key skills:
 Excellent written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively for different
audiences using different platforms, and translate complex information into appealing messages
and stories.

Demonstrated experience in writing and producing digital content and working with a content
management system such as Wordpress.

Understanding of tactics for optimising content for maximum readership and influence, as well as
familiarity with different analytics tools.

Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.

An understanding of social finance, social entrepreneurism and the opportunities for promoting the
field will be well regarded.
