The Lord who calls us to serve Him equips us with gifts, so that we may respond with joy to our calling. Within the priesthood of all believers there are varieties of gifts to be used for God’s glory, to give effective witness to the Gospel, and to proclaim the love of God in word and deed. In this Diocese we have developed a scheme for Shared Ministry Teams to help clergy and laity share more effectively in the task of encouraging the full use of the gifts given to the whole people of God. Bishop: Remember, O Lord, what you have wrought in us, and not what we deserve; and as you have called us to your service, make us worthy of our calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord. All: Amen Those to be commissioned come forward to stand before the Archdeacon together with a representative of the PCC, and a diocesan Shared Ministry representative. A representative of the PCC introduces each Team member to the Archdeacon. The diocesan representative reads out the Agreed Statement, saying: Archdeacon, the Shared Ministry Team was selected by the Parochial Church Council on [insert date].
