'The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild in collaboration with Nash Theatre Audition Versatile and energetic actors are sought for Nash's final production of 2015's 'Murder She Wrote' series - The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery, a comedy by David McGilivray & Walter Zerlin Jnr, directed by Gilly Graham. Cast Required Felicity Female 20s – 30s A ditsy young woman also plays Pawn a Butler & Colonel King, Lady Bishop's brother-in-law. Audrey Female 30s 50s A spinster also plays Lady Doreen Bishop, a widow & Violet Bishop, her spinster aunt & Mrs King, the Colonel's wife & Joan Bishop, Lady Bishop's cousin. Mrs Reece Female 50s – 60s The officious and overbearing Chairperson of FAHETGDS also plays Clarissa Rook, Lady Bishop's sister & Regine, the French maid & Patricia Bishop, Lady Bishop's Niece & Letitia Bishop, her sister & Mr Goodbody, a solicitor! Thelma Female 30s – 40s A prima donna and Mrs Reece's Second in Command also plays Daphne Bishop, Lady Bishop's daughter & Rose Bishop, her spinster aunt. Gordon Male 30s – 50s A geeky anorak wearer Preparation: To audition, please prepare a couple of short (2-3 minutes) monologues of a comedic nature, ideally portraying 2 different characters. You will not be expected to have learnt your lines (all the better if you have!), just ensure you've done your homework and prepared well! Date: Saturday August 22nd Time: 9am onwards by appointment Place: The Play Shed next to the car park behind Merthyr Road Uniting Church, 52 Merthyr Rd. Access is via the path next to the church or via Amity St. Season November 14th to December 5th Rehearsals start the weekend of 12 September, one day per weekend and 2 evenings per week. This is a frenetically paced comedy in which the ladies (and Gordon) of FAHETGDS attempt to present an ambitious evening's entertainment with the cunning whodunit, 'Murder at Checkmate Manor'. Everything that can go wrong does! Just to keep the audience on their toes however, there's also a film and fashion show and a murder mystery quiz, all set against the background of the Annual FAHETGDS Christmas Bazaar and Tombola!
