Compared to last week feeder cattle sold 4.00 to 8.00 higher. Slaughter cows
were mostly steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady to 5.00
higher.There were light offerings of all classes cattle today comprised of
mostly average quality. There was moderate buyer activity. Demand is very
light for early maturing feeder cattle.
Slaughter cows made up 12 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent,
replacement cows 6 percent, other cows 3 percent, and feeders 77 percent.
The feeder supply included 34 percent steers, 38 percent heifers, and 28
percent bulls. Near 16 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
