Job Description: Research & Site Development Analyst Title Research & Site Development Analyst Description This is a unique opportunity to help conduct research and assist in managing the efforts for the commercial development of a new biofuel and wastewater treatment / water production technology. It requires a diverse skill set in the areas of data analysis, research, technical communications, organizational management and relationship development. The job will entail being the primary research analyst responsible for conducting efforts on behalf of the company to site and develop commercial projects in the US and worldwide. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s lifecycle analysis and assessment and work closely with the company’s R&D team to evaluate sustainability goals. It requires the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, obtain accurate information on proposed sites that may or may not be readily available, develop relationships, and manage complex problems. The selected candidate will have a unique set of skills the company feels is appropriate to conduct this effort, is technically minded, competently knowledgeable in the field of our work and engaging. You will work closely with a variety of people throughout the Algae Systems management team but will work directly for the company’s Vice President of Operations and Market Development. Your job will be to assist him and others in developing and executing strategies for commercial project siting. You will develop tools, analyze data, provide feedback and assist in decision making to meet this goal. You will be expected to manage this effort, and collaborate well with technical, financial and marketing teams. This position requires collaboration with an elite cross-disciplinary team of engineers, technologists and scientists working together across diverse areas of expertise. You must be able to understand the end-to-end technology process (including biological processes, dewatering, chemical processing, environmental terms, utility trade jargon and the fundamental political processes which would be involved in establishing a new greenfield commercial site for the company) and synthesize technical information to communicate the goals of the company and requirements of project siting. Your work will be conducted in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress work environment for a small but groundbreaking company focused on developing technologies at the waterenergy nexus. Duties & Responsibilities, you will/be: Conduct research & analysis on siting commercial facilities in the US and worldwide; Assist in managing internal communication and reporting on commercial project development; Job Description: Research & Site Development Analyst Assist in engaging and developing strong relationships with local authorities and government on behalf of the company, including managing permitting efforts; Responsible for building and managing the company’s lifecycle analysis tools; Interfacing with the company’s engineers, researchers and management on a regular basis; Willing to travel from time to time both domestically and internationally; Willing to work in the field and assist with various efforts as necessary. These could involve anything from field data collections such as environmental conditions, accurate and legible note taking during meetings, assisting field staff members with any task necessary to accomplish the mission at hand in the most efficient, effective way possible; Other work as required from time to time by the Company; Report directly to the Vice President of Operations and Market Development Skills: Strong Excel and data analysis skills; Excellent technical writing & communication skills; Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and organizational skills. Ability to manage a schedule and meet the deadlines set for you Ability to effectively and positively collaborate with various stakeholders both internally and externally; Understand and put to use immediately technical processes and technology; Ability to manage workflow and manage up and across the organization; Experience or knowledge with sustainable engineering and design a plus – including environmental compliance and lifecycle analysis.
