Here you find some further information on the application procedure and some points to check to make
sure your application can be processed smoothly.
When preparing your application please make sure you clearly state the following items:

Name
Gender (M/F)
Date of birth
Nationality
Family (Y/N) - please specify your family status (incl, children) for us to assess possible
work/residence permits and whether you qualify for a family allowance
Date MSc (please make sure you send a copy of your certificate or state the expected date of
graduation)
Country of of residence in past 3 years. If you have resided in various countries please check
carefully the rules of the Marie-Curie Actions, Page 388, section b (v), whether you are eligible to
apply for a position.
Language skills
We will check your letter and CV on several criteria. These include
Is your background relevant?– Think of BSc and MSc courses and subjects, different subjects during
study, participation in cross disciplinary teams/papers.
Excellence– High grades, awards, grants.
Field experience– Think of fieldwork activities, outdoor interests.
International experience – Have you been working/living in other countries than your own in the past? Do
you have any experience in the Pontocaspian region?
Publication track record – We will consider your record given the time since your graduation. Think also
about conference papers, submitted and accepted papers.
Other things you can think of to elaborate in your letter:
Social skills – Have you been part of a team? Are there other signs you are well capable of functioning in
teams?
Signs of endurance and perseverance – Are you capable to work in situations that can be difficult?
Language skills - Good command of English is required, but command of regional languages (e.g.
Russian, Turkish or other relevant regional languages) is a pro.
The procedure
After the deadline we will rank all candidates per project. Please make sure that in case you are
interested in more than one project that you send in separate applications. Within two weeks from
the deadline we will rank candidates per project and intend to invite the two best ranked candidates for
interviews. The interviews will be held in Leiden (The Netherlands) on May 20 (Workpackage 1), May 21
(Workpackage 2) and May 22 (Workpackage 3). In the evening all candidates and the commission are
invited for a joint dinner. The PRIDE program will pay for your travel costs and 1-2 nights stay.
